My stepdad has a mercedes, but instead of a hood ornament its jus flat, can
i buy him a hood ornament for christmas and will he be able to use it on
the car?

I kick myself in the head everytime I realize how much I overpaid..lol
Should have bought a used one from a car forum, or go to a wrecking yard
they sometimes have them. $10-$20 all the time. There’s no way I’d pay that
much for one when I can get a complete hood for $150-200.
I drive a 1995 e320, but I am trying to get the hood ornament on, only
problem is that there is a piece of metal that covers about half the are
where the wingnut/thing u twist is located. I physically cant fit the
pliers around the part I am supposed to turn. The best I can do is get it
turned about halfway, and the ornament is really loose and wiggles around.
Any tips to help me?

on your 1995 e-class from underneath you turn 90 degrees to the left and
lift out,same as the w202 in the video..look closely at it once it is
loose..the little plastic ears on the sides sometimes need a bit of a push
with a screwdriver to line up with the holes

Nice job. That is the easiest I have seen those installed with just a pair
of pliers. New ones tend to be more difficult to secure in place. I cant
believe your dealership charged you that much. Autohaus Arizona has OEM
ones for $25 or so. My MB dealership had them for $30 or so. Besides the
point, but there used be a special tool to reinstall hood ornaments but
they are NLA.
