Lucino Rey Pinacho says:

I had this problem with my 99 C230. First thing I did was to change the
stop light switch, the problem ended right away. Than you for your video
and instructions. The most difficult part form me was to assemble again the
hood release handle. My bottom plastic part was smaller and did not go all
the way to the brake release area. It was easy and fun. I spent $12 bucks.
My car is fixed. Thanks for the video and the suggestions.

i saved you some money.

Metalunique says:

i have a simular problem to my w202 2000 220cdi, the ( bas/esp ) light is
on, ( i can’t turn of the ESP. to you the same lamp is ( bas/asr ) the ABS
light is not on. what could i do ?

w202firstaid says:

I hope it works for you too.

w202firstaid says:

I reckon you should change the brake light switch, the part is so cheap it
is worth a try first. If it doesnt work you will have to get a diagnostic
done on the car.

Thank u so much!

need to know about 93 bz asr problem

w202firstaid says:

I’m happy that it worked for you if you brought this problem to Mercedes
garbage it probably would have cost you a couple of hundred pounds .don’t
forget to sub on share my videos

NEJAT KOZANOGLU says:

Hi thanks for the info . I have that problem too , but speedo and cruise
control not working , what do you suggest about that ?

Ven'Darrius Gardner says:

Daniel O'Brien says:

you on the result good video

barluenxo says:

Hi, for starters I would like to thank you for your video. Simple and
effective, no beating around the bush. I have an SLK R170 from 2000, and I
have a similar problem, but I am guessing way much dangerous. When I am
driving my car, my front RH wheel breaks out of the blue without any
warning, just freezes, sometimes at 90MPH. Only then I get the lights on
for ESP/BAS, no ABS light comes on. HAve you heard about something like
this? Any ideas? Thank you

Morten Engsødegård says:

I have the same problem on my Mercedes c180 W202. I checked if the brake
light switch was broken, but it seems fine. The brake lights are flashing
when I push the button in and out on the brake light switch. But could it
be broken even if the brake lights are flashing?

tommy shreenan says:

this was the same as mine and it was the abs ring so look at the rings first

rozdog333 says:

Thanks mate! I followed your advice and bought the part last night on ebay
(£10 including postage – arrived this morning!!) after fitting the lights
went out and stayed out! This is a real result as I bought the car as
spares or repairs for £800, not bad for a 2000 C240 Sport estate with new
MOT, tax, fsh and in great condition too! Thanks again! Paul

w202firstaid says:

Im not a mechanic but i reckon it is worth changing the brake light switch
first because the switch breaks alot
