So now I've been at it 2 hrs trying to get the rotor from the grasp of those ferkin parking brake shoes. Top one's clear and the rotors at an angle and nearly there, but won't let go of the bottom one!! Any ideas anyone? Am I supposed to back of the shoes by adjusting them somehow? Grrrrrrr…….

I've used other means for compressing the piston before. I guess you'd void any warranty if you didn't use the special tool.

I replaced my brake pads on my C Class for the first time today. Thank to the video, it gave me a lot of help! Thank's! I didn't hang the piston caliper by the hose, and used grease. Other than that, the video is very helpful!

No lube used on anything to prevent squeaking or possible future seizing etc…tut tut tut.

You can risk damaging the brake hose when you leave the caliper hanging by the hose.
And as another user said: "grease"
