The way I tested it was jacking up the car and jacking up the transmission
like shown in the video but starting the engine and rubbing it to see if
the vibration is there or not. If the vibration happens when the car is not
jacked up but when you jack up the vibration disappears in the mount is
broken. The crazy thing is when you remove the amount it might not even
look seriously damaged the rubber just collapses. Anyways make sure to
always buy OEM parts. .

Man your vids are excellent for visualization. I too have to do mine. One
problem though the video isn’t complete? Any chance you can make a vid. For
engine mount replacement? Thanks

First off i wanna say thank you for your awesome videos! Your just like me
very mechanically inclined, i just noticed a metal to metal type banging
noise coming from the rear of the car after i hit the gas hard off the line
any suggestions on were to look first?

Tariq T says:

I also wanted to point out that a Merc tech once told me that its best do
the Engine mount replacement first then do the Tranny mount last so that
you wont stretch out the tranny mount when jacking up the engine etc…but
anyhow I just wanted to point that out. By the your CL55 is damm sexy.

The thing that I’ve learned from replacing the mount three fucking times is
that you never want to take the cheap way out. Spend $50 and by the genuine
mount from Mercedes-Benz. You can see in the video I included the part
number for the correct updated mount. Make sure you get the newest one
possible for your car. they did make changes over the years to the design.
It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes in the smoothness, you feel
vibrations if your mount starts to go out.

PS I’m thinking about replacing my engine mounts because they might be a
tiny bit worn down, and if I decide to do that I will absolutely make much
better video. Check out my Mercedes AMG tuning playlist and if you want to
subscribe I do update a lot. Thanks bro! If you have any questions you can
always message me too

Thanks alot Traiq! And I’m really sorry about the video. I forgot to start
up the camera when I got to work on it and then it was so sketchy being
underneath there trying to get the work done I hardly had any room
whatsoever. Anyways for that I apologize but basically you just remove the
bolts and then the transmission mount will come right out.

Hey man, thank you soo much for all the details. I been following you on
the Mbenzworld for a long time, and I did subscribe to your channel as
well, b/c by far you do an excellent job on explaining and showing how its
done properly. I did buy the OEM parts the Engine mounts and Tranny as
well. I did some research on the companies and found out that LEmfordor is
one of the best German companies out there which are oem for Mercs that
last longer than any OE brand.

aydinvideo says:

You are absolutly correct. The best thing to do is replace all mounts at
the same time, so there is no uneven wear.. If my trans mount fails again,
I’ll be making a video on engine mount replacement as well lol. I’m mostly
just posting to youtube now, too many losers/trolls on forums it seems. So
thanks for subscribing! Will keep on making videos here, of maintenance and
upgrades.. So thanks for the comments Tariq- hopefully I can be of
assistance to you and other viewers of my vids. 🙂
