Thanks for the video. This is very helpful. Not a whole lot of info on YouTube about the G class.
Hi Jim – thank you for the great content. I have a 2013 MB c300 Sport and recently got my front pads and rotors professionally replaced. However, every time I go through a bump I get a loud rattle from what I believe my brake pads, whenever I press the brake while going through a bump, there’s no rattle. Anything you’d recommend? Thanks.
Hello Mr. Jim
This is a really well done video you got here… and funny at times with the background noise…
can you please help me a bit more on how to retract the parking brake at rear on a 20014 GL63
I was able to do everything with this video but I find that and couldn’t finish:::☹️
Thank You ….i
My only question is , torque rench was not used, is it a big deal ?
Pads don’t go to edge so get the lip. Same as my Lexus.
What a perfect video. Very precise and well done leaving no question as to how to do this procedure. I will use this when I have to change my brakes on my G63. Thank you.
This is great stuff, I'm surprised this video isn't in the millions of views, ill have to post it on the Mercedes forum in the diy section. After spending over $2,000 for rotors and pads all around for my E63 I definitely didn't want to pay another $500-1000 in labor at the stealership. I did the brake job, spark plugs, filters and other small things in about 4 hours in my garage taking my time. Thanks for the video.
great vid. Is this the same procedure for a 2010 E63?
That's the easiest job you show. Why don't you show how to diagnose the difflocks vacuum system??
all European cars brakes all all design to wear like that so dealer can sell more parts. lol sad for owner.
Great video Jim! Very cool car! You are right, you don't see those everyday. That's a 150K dollars car! I love to see these cars,it's not your usual brake job.
8:17 i had a bitch… a bad time
Nice job as usual, Jim. I have done a brake service on a Benz or two and as far as German stuff goes the brakes aren't too bad to work on.
That new rotor seemed mighty heavy. Looked like a top named brand though. If I were to guess about $60 a piece
Hi Jim. Nice tip to screw a wheel bolt into the new brake disc to centre everything before tightening the brake disc to hub securing screw. Thanks.
as long as they not coming here we ok haha Mrs Jim car guy will watch this video and say I knew you heard the phone…those are some nice rotors I have seen you use that lube on the pads before is that your special blend or store bought? thanks Jim
never worked on one of those yet but i have done many mercedes and bmw cars for brakes and they almost always have a huge ridge on the rotors
