Be carful!!!!. You do not need a screwdriver tu pull the from the side.
There are two clips on the under side of the panel on each side, just above
the ash tray. You push on the tow buttons in front of the clips that free
them. If you pull from the side you may break the clips and damage the
console.. Also do not turn your car on if you un plug the panel as you will
get a check engine light. If you do just let the car rest for 15 to 30
minuts turned of and it should not reappear. (worked for me). Thought this
would help.

The Amp is Fiber Optic, can not be replaced with standard Amp.
I own this car…and for those of you planning on doing this….You should
know that you should use a screwdriver to “pop” it out. It’ll only end up
scratching the trimming. Instead, you should slide out the cigarette
compartment (you don’t need to take it out) and then just put your hands on
the bottom trimming (you should be able to feel two areas that you can push
in on). Push in on it and it should come off. Hope this helps.
You need to have a special keys which you could buy them from a Mercedes
Dealer or borrow it from you mechanic. Insert those keys to the two slots
on the bottom of the radio, one on each side, you would hear a click which
it would release the lock and then slide out your radio.

where is installed the amplifier harman kardon mercedes ML320
my intention is to replace the original by a central multimedia dvd pioneer
and remove the amplifier harman kardon and after installing a crossover
with RCA outputs, you think it’s possible to do this installation. Another
question that I would make is how can I remove the amp down on the floor.
