This applies to many other control boards as well. I restored function to the cruise control of my 380SL by resoldering many of the connections in the controller.

That's good to know!

Brock1912 says:

Various Honda/Acura models from the mid 80s up through the late 90s had the same problem. I also would repair the OE relay rather than replace it with an aftermarket one.

Johnathan Waters says:

I REALLY think you should mention that there is a CONFORMAL COATING on the Pcb. If you try to resolder the relay without stripping this coating off first (with lacquer/epoxy thinner etc, and a brush) then this coating could interfere with the connection of the joint, even though it LOOKS OK! Ive dealt with this problem several times, and took quite some time to realize!

David Raezer says:

Good informative video. Broken solder joints are not just a MB issue but any European car built in the 80’s. So many DIY owners are needlessly replacing parts that it depletes remaining stock forcing the use of substandard parts when they are actually needed. I try to stress diagnose then replace. Something lost in today’s world.

Walter Tymczyna says:

They do have the dislike button.

Bill Welter says:

Thank you, I had trouble with my 500 sel euro.
