Bringing Home The CHEAPEST Mercedes S-CLASS in the USA! How To Repair Collapsed Air Suspension W220

Here we go with Part II of rescuing the cheapest Mercedes S-Class in the USA! In the last video we took a look at a 2000 Mercedes-Benz S430 W220 that has been sitting for close to three years due to a collapsed Airmatic suspension system. The previous owner was done trying to fix it and wanted it out of the garage so he sold it to me to fix up and get back on the road. I didn’t manage to get the car going in the last episode so I am back with Part II!

No, I didn’t create an account at StanceNation, this car has a dead Airmatic air compressor. In this video I show you how to check the relay for the airmatic suspension and how to replace the Mercedes Airmatic air compressor to get your collapsed suspension functioning again. Both repairs are a simple DIY job on the Mercedes W220.

Once the car had a new compressor, it pumped right back up and drove down the road just fine. For the cheapest S430 W220 in the USA, it really is a very nice car. Almost all of the electronics work, AC works, starts and runs great, no check engine lights, and drives smooth and comfortable.

Stay tuned to the channel for future vides on this new project. Thanks for watching!

Alucard White says:

Unsafe Jacking up car jack stand should have been in the front frame area on A frame or pull out the covers from the side use a metal rod or use the original car jack to rise up the car then low profile jack

Maxime Collet says:

Just totaled my absolute mint W220 S500 🙁

OMGWTFLOL says:

Takes a min to test the relay. It should click when you apply 12v and neg to the two horizontal blades that are opposite each other. Or you can pull the relay and short the vertical slot with the opposite horizontal slot in the fuse block where the relay was pulled from. That will give 12 volts to the compressor and you will know immediately if the compressor is bad or the connection to the compressor is bad.

i have the same car. Can it be the compressor if just the passenger rear is sagging. its not slammed but looks a little off from being level? usually looks most off first thing in the morning after sitting.

Adam N says:

Nice work. Do you still have it? I've had a w220 S320 for about 6 months so far. My mum actually uses it. I've always liked the looks of these things, and it has been a real nice highway cruiser the few times I've gotten behind the wheel.

Hi, my S CLass just went wrong with the rear end going up in the air like a dragster front has stayed at normal height but rear end is up at maximum height and the dashboard says suspension Malfunction any idea what the problem is likely to be please????

Cornelius Gray says:

One of those plugs wasn't quite what bro

Damian mammon says:

And just FYI just a little tip on them being able to raise the car if the bags do go out pressure goes out, right above the jack points on the actual side of the car there is little doors that you can takeoff those doors give access to put a bolt there long thick bolt put that there and raise it up now you ain’t gotta worry about it being so low

Damian mammon says:

Picked up one a as well for about half the kbb dude said he didn’t like the creaking noise from the suspension figured can’t be that bad to change he got lucky and Bought it off of an older lady that was leaving town and couldn’t take it with her its a pretty nice car And then I pushed on the gas the first night and sin my coolant level starters low rain and it started loading faster and faster come to find out there’s a common problem heater core hose connector It’s a plastic piece connecting the hoses between the firewall thought well that’s pretty stupid let’s put heat and plastic together should work all right well $10 later and I don’t know 30 minutes of my time including being able to clean the compartments is nice. My next project will be that creaking noise though I want to try and make some money off of this

Reasons says:
