This guy is super cool

Lockemeister says:

Yes, thanks. I was looking and found there is some sort of relay that will
switch the Aux battery in. thanks for writing back. I don’t think I need a
battery now, but if you can find out what battery you bought that would be
cool and I can remember that for future reference.

Lockemeister says:

Thanks Tom ! U2. John

txboifrozt says:

That battery actually is for the SBC Brakes. Once it goes bad you will get
a red battery message. You can replace it with a motorcycle battery for
about 90$

txboifrozt says:

I wanted to send you some pictures and a link to the battery but for some
reason i cannot find a way to message you.

txboifrozt says:

It is a Auxiliary Battery i believe it does help take strain off of the
main battery but mainly used for the SBC Brakes. When this battery goes bad
you will get a red battery message on the dash and you will then need to
replace it. I can’t exactly remember which battery i bought ill check it
when i get a chance and get back to you.

Lockemeister says:

Not so sure about that. Everything I read says it’s an auxiliary battery
used to stabilize voltages. I assume for the computer(s). You might be
right, about it being for the braking system. Do you have a link or
something I can look at? A motorcycle battery seems like a good idea though
for a replacement.

Dan Ludington says:

nice car too

Lockemeister says:

Thank you for all of your advice.

face!!! Have a good weekend! Tom

Lockemeister says:

only in you’re in china and viewing from the the other side of the globe.
ahhh sooo!

Lockemeister says:

Thank you. I got a great deal on it. Cost 20K tax included in 2010. Traded
in an Altima with 145K miles. amazing how much these cars can depreciate.

Dan Ludington says:

what a cool thing to keep the air clean

txboifrozt says:

You should get a message if it goes bad. But you can easily check it with a
voltage meter and tell if it is good or not. After replacing turn on the
heater, heated seats on high, and all electronics to pre-load the battery.
You may have to re-sync the windows and sunroof, but mine worked perfectly
fine.
