Nonya B: For some reason Youtube tells me when I reply to you “You are not
allowed to comment on this post”. Gee, I sure do love this new commenting
system…Anyway, it’s not really that heavy, but it’s not light and the
size makes it awkward to move around.

HI Aaron, even as a non-mechanic I usually follow along pretty well, and
you are a great instructor. I am confused about the cut out you made in the
floor to accommodate the HVAC’s drain. After fitting and securing the unit
you fabricated a box to encase the cutout. Here is where I am confused. Are
you going to leave it open on one side and just let the condensation run
out or will you attach a hose and then close up the gap? At higher speed
you’ll get some Bernoulli effect and air will be drawn from the cabin out,
but it also seems like a good place for rust to form, and perhaps even for
water to splash into the cabin at lower speeds, and it will be a place for
noise to enter too. Maybe I’m jumping the gun and should wait for part II.
I’m curious though.

awesome video.. you did a great job making it. Thanks.

Eatthe Shite says:

I wonder why you didn’t take those fittings to the badsaw and halved them
horizontally, take the bottom off one and the top off the other, then you
would have a more stable flange on each and they would interlock with the
bolt passing through both to further stabilize them. Also, I used to be
Apocalypsedonkey before Youtube got ‘Googled’. So I’ve been bothering you
for a while now. Nice work, can’t wait to see it finished.

Aaron, the more mounting boss’s added to the evaporator case the greater
the cost. It looked like the two mounting holes were meant for
thru-firewall mounting.

trinity says:

i would have cut the compressor adapters in a stepped fashion that is top
half on one and bottom half on other both then they have a solid mounting
with no need for reinforcing plate

+aaroncake the new google+ system basically ruins ur options for replying
to comments. it sucks. everyone hates it, but it cant be changed. never

happy every time I see one
