Roland Anderson says:

Sometimes I miss my honda. Fixing other stuff never goes as smoothly.

Edit: a week later I’m changing 40 year old ball joints on an old GM. This
sucks. (also replacing control arm bushings). Although your video gives me
hope for being able to do it with a hammer. Don’t see why I should go buy a
press.

jonathanyip343 says:

Man, you make it look so easy.

karlos6628 says:

Eric the car guy-thanks for sharing your knowledge -your videos are so
helpful.

phuturephunk says:

Anyone else go OH!!! after he said “Well obviously there’s a tire
issues..but..more importantly” BOOM broken half shaft.

kyle monroe says:

lol, and another thing, hope you dont blow a ball joint and rip your cv
shaft out while crossing train tracks and getting stuck on them, like i
did.

Webberdock says:

according to tire condition, driver is kamikaze

john amari says:

I just changed out the cv axel on my 96 accord the same way you did on the
video but the clutch lost its pressure I’d like to know the reason and how
to fix that I also put new transmission fluid in it

Katsu Wolf says:

you said if the car has vibrations or shakes on the steering wheel it has
what particular problems? my datsun 280ZX turbo does that. also its been
sluggish during acceleration, i looked at it and thought it could be gasket
leaks maybe? it sputters when trying to accelerate with little backfire.

NETWizzJbirk says:

Seems that customer also needs a new tire and obviously an aliment after
the suspension work.

Sea Vang says:

I sent my Civic 2012 Coupe EX back to the dealer since it was still under
warranty and that cost me $500. Was it worth it?

Edward Kil says:

What do you suggest if you can’t get the but of the axle loose? I have
broken two breaker bars and used my impact. :/

Nick R says:

Hey,

! got a microcar with a ticking axles.

The one on the left side.

Would it be an option to take it apart and clean it and look what couses
it, or is it just wear beyond repair?

Scott Chant says:

what do you do if you bought a van it got shakey front wheel but when im
under neath it it got a tracking arm missing is that normal

T Mart says:

Do you not torque your ball joints? You just blast through everything with
your impact gun?

Gabriel Cornejo says:

Eric the hero!

Tigerfire75 says:

Piece of junk Honda. Can’t they build cars that are idiot proof?

hehehe

KB MILLER says:

i like how blunt and direct you are about fixing vehicles 🙂 you dont get
off in the bullshit like the other folks that make videos that are trying
to sell there own asses lol thanks for the video :)

Koppakuoriainen says:

How can you tell if the balljoint is bad before this happens? I guess you
can hear som noise but can you fysiclly (if that is a word) feel or see
that it is bad?

James Machalik says:

Buy a ball joint press tool. I have one…works great!

Johnny B says:

Thank you Eric ive learned alot from your videos

Zdogg goblin says:

Great vid man .. First one I have watched but I’ll be subscribing to keep

Modfydsubi STi says:

Mike Bosak says:

I think I like the narrated videos better.

rrty3 says:

Hi Eric, another great vid!! what size impact were you using on this vid?

marcbeau1982 says:

How did I know it was an accord?

Tango1nz says:

Thanks for uploaded.

That_Green_Waldo says:

Another gem, thanks E!

James Machalik says:

Rebuilt axle=junk!

Gkir1 says:

Hi eric can u do the removal of the balljoint from the hub of a 98 integra

James Machalik says:

Just changed a lower control arm on a 2009 G6 with less than 60K on it. The
ball joint was wore out already!

Kurt H says:

Well there’s your problem! lol

Chris Escue says:

ERIC, WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON REMAN CV AXLES OR NEW CV AXLE. I HEARD ALOT
OF PEOPLE SAYING THEY PREFER REMAN TO NEW.

Eliot Kays says:

Nice video! I bet their other side ball joint will separate soonly also

Peter Rushbrook says:

Hi Eric,
I had misfortune to have a problem with my near side drive shaft and it was
replaced with a new one for a reasonable amount. The repairers gave me the
old shaft to keep. The part that let me down was the cog on the end which
was on the other side of split ring which kept the chine end in the Gear
Box. This cog just snapped off clean, can I buy a new end and fit it to the
shaft. Keep up the good work.

olbrocko says:

Just did this job on a 97 accord. I had great luck using an air hammer to
remove and install the lower balljoints.

fisqual says:

Holy crap you have 5 million clutch alignment thingies.

maer06 says:

I think my 92 accord’s axle broke today, i was drivng about 20mph and
suddenly it smashed down and i looked at the tire, the spindle is broken
but i dont seem to know what is broken, can anyone help please i am
thinking about replacing it myself

bigdaddy377able says:

My wheel came off while i was driving and i find out that my rotor is

them, do you know what coudlve mest up?

sajiktm says:

hai eric
I have a problem with my toyota corolla 2006, when i drive above 50 miles
there is a sound comin from front left side and a little shake. also when
i applied the brake in at high speed the brake pedal oscilating… i dont
know whether both are related or not, but any way i went 3 different
mechanics all of them have differnt openions, one said bad tire, one said
sway bar and i spend 300 dollors to toyota dealer to wheel alingment and
balanceing… no use…. i would like to hear from you
thanks

Tony Gunz says:

My Chevy aveo ls 2007 steering wheel is kind of shaky especially when im
driving on the highway… What can it be?
& also my 1999 ford tourus is making a clicking nosie when i accelerate,
what can that be?
Thank you.

mozzmann says:

Hey Eric WTF is it with a LOT of Yank Mechanics and bloody rubber gloves
???

Here is a little tip for you Eric for what it is worth, IMHO NEVER drive a
Ball joint like that in from an angle, but I noticed you mentioned to be
carefull and not cock it off line in the boring 🙂 , What I do since I have
made a series of cups that fit onto the drive flange of the new Ball Joints
and then simply pull the Ball Joint into the Strut with a real big “G”
Clamp and a tube for the Ball joint bolt to rest in as it is clamped up.
Also I am sorry but I must correct you in the terminology they are NOT
axle’s your referring to regarding the correct size but are CV Shafts.

Looks like the Front suspension should have ALL the ball joints replaced
along with the Tie Rod ends, you are spot on with the preventative
maintenance too IMHO. If you have the vehicle partially disassembled
replacing a couple of hundred dollars worth of knuckles and joints is way
cheaper than crashing the car because something gave out. Oh PS I hope you
loosened and then re-tightened the Lug nuts with a Cross Wrench once on the
ground.

MrUnknownnoone says:

“Obviously there’s a tire issue” LOL…

freakin1random says:

If the tire is loose along its z axis (i.e. the way the wheel normally
turns with the steering wheel), then what should I look for?

curvenut says:

Eric, I just installed a new ball joint, one month old, an the boot of the
ball joint is already torn. Could you make a video on how to change the
boot of a Accord 1996 lower ball joint ??? or any car ? Is it worth it to
change the boot ? is it easy ?? Thanks

diego juarez says:

good job man.

lindapt55 says:

Eric, I love you! Everytime I need to know something about my car, I look
for you. Thank you, lpt55
