DaJaguar says:

Speaking of your girl, why couldn’t you call her to hold the camera up for you?

Sam m says:

Yup only a butthurt wannabe mechanic would be an armchair critic , yet post 0 videos. None, nada, Yeah Haynes, step by step tear down with pics. Already did front rotors, so when I do rear, I’ll make a video, I have access to full bay lift, so look for it, rear rotors on Mazda 6 2004. See what bubba the critic has to say about my video.

David Gillenwaters says:

Haynes?! Really?! You’re going to break out your Haynes manual to try and make your point? Whoa! Easy there tiger. Yeah, you schooled me. Please. Stop. You’re embarrassing your family.

Haynes? Really? smh……

Now, about your community service comment, this video isn’t going to help keep anybody honest but an undertaker. It’s ok though. I get it. Grease on a rotor isn’t counterproductive to good braking. Nothing to see here….

Your very welcome, car is at 167k and driven Aggressive. Brakes have only failed because of RUST living way up north in NY where winter is 6 months long. I create videos like this to help give other people out there a little know how on replacing brake pads. If you need any more help please ask. Good Luck!

Sam m says:

Thanks for the quick and easy DIY. Ignore the nay-sayers likely butt hurt Bubba’s garage mechanics mad that you’re showing people how to avoid getting ripped off. I don’t pay for any service on my cars after I got taken for a simple check engine that turned out to be an obvious tear in the fresh air hose. Never Again.

Sam m says:

Ok so the name changed, it’s not anti-rattle now? My service manuals both Haynes and All-data call for rubber grease on this model Mazda. Rubber grease is a generic term for a lubricant that is not petroleum based and doesn’t harm rubber. To that, again love to see your videos. I think more people should post automotive -how to videos, it’ll keep the shops honest and competitive. I got tired of being ripped off by inflated parts and labor prices, by incompetent mechanics.

David Gillenwaters says:

Look it up yourself. Google will help you out. Anti squeal compound. But like I said, they’re just brakes. Knock yourself out.

Sam m says:

Again provide a link to this anti-rattle lube and better yet provide a link to your rotor replace video. Would love to see it. Lot easier to sit back and criticize as opposed to posting videos. In fact you have no videos posted.

David Gillenwaters says:

You guys go right ahead. They’re just brakes. Who needs them, right?

David Gillenwaters says:

How do I know he didn’t do what? In the video, he didn’t remove nor mention removing any fluid from the master cylinder before pressing the piston back into the caliper. In the video, he didn’t bleed nor mention bleeding the brakes. In the video, he didn’t spray down nor mention spraying down the rotors with brake clean even though you can clearly see anti rattle lube on the rotors. That’s pretty much how I know he didn’t.

Sam m says:

How do you know he didn’t do that??? Post a video, 2003-2005 Mazda 6 brakes and calipers. Love to see it.

Thanks for this video man, helped alot

MrPRIVATEALEX1 says:

Yea hes drunk already..oh and to replace the pads you have to buy or steal new ones. You cant replace pads if you dont have a new set of pads…lmao and you also need a tool to remove the lug nuts…lmao holy shit dude!

Your Very welcome, thats why I make these videos and try to answer all questions. Here to help my fellow Americans!! Garages try to rip you off. I have just started to use these Nitrile gloves. Fits snug to my fingers so it still kinda feels like no gloves…but I do hear ya…sometimes I rip those off. I hate gloves too. Take Care. ra

seebee077 says:

Thanks for posting this I watched your vid then replaced front & rear pads on my 6 and saved myself a sh*t load of money. It only cost my about $70, and a cut finger(I dislike wearing gloves).

David Gillenwaters says:

Maybe you should wait to start drinking AFTER you work on something as vital as the breaks on your car.

David Gillenwaters says:

Before you compress the piston back into the caliper, you should remove the cap from the master cylinder and remove some of the fluid. Otherwise you’ll blow out the o-rings in your master cylinder. After installing the new pads and rotors and using thread lock on the caliper mounting bolts, you should bleed the brakes. Finally before reinstalling the wheels you should spray down the rotor, front and back, to remove the anti rattle lube you got all over them when mounting the caliper.

David Gillenwaters says:

You really should consider using jack stands and not the factory tire changing jack when doing work on your car. The owner’s manual clearly tells you that the throw in jack is not for performing this type of work on your vehicle. A good set of jack stands can save your life. You may also want to consider wearing real shoes and not flip flops before you wind up in the emergency room getting your foot sewn up at the least or having a toe reattached.

Your Very Welcome!! Good Luck! Brutmaster

Nicolas Bilodeau says:

thank you for taking the time to do this. Now let see if I can do it myself.

brutmaster08 says:

Ah, yes I forgot to order them so they were forgotten. It is really fun to get them installed when putting it together. I remember when I did my first brake job on the Mazda and wow kept pushing them apart. LOL Good job!!

bridgeg says:

Hi. I know this was posted awhile ago. Just changed my brake pads and rotors yesterday on my 2005 Mazda 6 for 1st time. It only has 69K miles on it. Had a hard time with the M Springs which attach to the brake pads. I don’t see them attached to yours. Are you aware of them and just ignored putting them in or am I missing something? Thanks.

brutmaster08 says:

Thanks, I will try that on Future cars with them!!

brutmaster08 says:

Hi, thanks for the vid, I will have to give that a try on my brother 07 Mazda6 when the time comes. For mine, you saw it , drilled flush….LOL. Does the trick.

RoniisH says:

why are you wearing broken pants? They’re not modern. They’re broken.
