Nice video. The knob is so poorly made. I’ve on my 2nd one, which also fell apart. My knob didn’t have a metal D-shaped bracket, which are being sold online. If you made these, I’d gladly purchase one.

the 2 things that go on rx8’s usually. the fan speed nob and the thrust bearing in the clutch…. these knobs always break and its only the fan one never the temperature one haha

Indeed. I love how the 3d printer movement is pushing advanced manufacturing techniques to the home. Hopefully that will provide some sort of disincentive for ridiculous part pricing. Right now there’s a lot of money in the spare parts business.

I hate how companies manufacture items like this knob knowing it will eventually break so they can charge a ridiculous price for a new one, knowing that the majority of the people don’t have access to the proper equipment to make one. Pisses me off!!! They could of easily designed and left more HDPE around the shaft for more support. Nice work though. Wish i had three axis CNC mill. It would be a fun project.
