You need to take the key to the dealer or an automotive locksmith so that they can program the key chip to start the car. That would be the only way.

Alejandro Santoyo says:

I have a new key like your programmed on the video, but with uncut blade, so I need to get my key cut, but my question is: I just have one key pre programmed, so I read that I need two pre programmed keys to program a new one. How can I program the new key with only one key? Can you help me, please.?

Prairie Bilton says:

You didn’t do it fast enough is why the other 2 didn’t program

XxDominicFlamezxX says:

okay i bought a 2005 mazda 6s the salesman gave me a remote I’ve tried programming it but nothing the car does unlock/lock when i open the door the problem is, is when i press the unlock button the remote it won’t program I’ve switched the battery out and still no go what might my problem be? where can i get a new remote that has the transmitter already?

konartis16868 says:

hello sir, i have a 2005 mazda 3 and the key(the one u hve in the video) isnt working, only a replacement kep which is the transponder type key…can the original key be programed?

carandtruckremotes says:

This programming will work for the remote portion only. They chip in the key must be programmed separately by a dealer or an automotive locksmith.

carandtruckremotes says:

Are you referring to a Lexus?

carandtruckremotes says:

Try rebooting the car by disconnecting the car’s battery for about 15 mins. Then try the programming again. There may be something wrong with the remote or the remote system. Do you get the initial response from the car?

carandtruckremotes says:

No, unfortunately we do not have anything like that available.

Great! Glad we could help!

Followed this video and was able to program for my Mazda 3 2012, thank you very much for this. Way faster and cheaper than having to get a key made on the spot, saved me $340!!

Daniel Rucker says:

I replaced both batteries and tested both signals from them but still cannot get the fobs programmed

raguarin says:

Awesome works with the 2004 Miata. Easy Peasy.

heartsfire101 says:

I have the same switchblade key however It appears that the Mazda you are using is pre-2011. Sir, do you know if this will work on a 2012? I have a 2012 Mazda5 Manual Trans.

Also, I found the exact key (in appearance) on ebay. Each of the sellers state the key will not work on a 2012. Perhaps the chip and programming process has changed in 2012. Thanks so much for you great help!!!

mosteng alqhtani says:

Hi thank you almost I wants programming 1999 LS 400 please

Vladimir Dimitrov says:

It works on my 2007 Mazda 3. Thank you! Just bought a used key fob from eBay and programmed it using this technique. Now I just need to get it cut and program the chip at the locksmiths 🙂

John Doe says:

I can confirm this works with Mazda DEMIO on a fob model No 41601.
Really great! Thanks a lot.

cazflan says:

The battery is still working in my original key fob as I had it tested at the locksmiths, he also had a device thts picking up the signal of the Keaton. However step 2 above wont work for me as I can’t lock/unlock the door when it’s open – I have an 09 Mazda 2 Comfort SE. Any help be greatly appreciated.

ALEXFVHS says:

Well mine is fully functional. Im looking for quality case maybe steel or aluminum. Do you guys make those?

carandtruckremotes says:

You can buy the replacement case/shell from our website for $14.99
Carandtruckremotes go to accessories, replacement cases, ford/mazda cases and you will see it there.

ALEXFVHS says:

You know like mazda 3 2004 has separate remote. And its all plastic and cheap. Where can I find quality remote just the shell it self. I can move all the insides

carandtruckremotes says:

The key and the remote are independent. You can program the remote with the above instructions; however, you must have the key cut and programmed by a dealer or locksmith. There is a chip in the key that has to be programmed to start the car as well.

ALEXFVHS says:

What if you cut the key?

carandtruckremotes says:

No, I am saying that, Unfortunately, the switchblade key WILL NOT work on a 2004. You can only use the separate key and remote on the 2004 Mazda 3.

ALEXFVHS says:

Are you saying that I can buy a switchblade key for 2010 mazda and its remote will still work on my 2004 mazda 3 if I program it the way you did on this video?

carandtruckremotes says:

That is correct. The “switchblade” key is only available for 2010 on the Mazda 3 model. The 2004 Mazda 3 has a separate key and remote as shown on our website; however, the programming procedure is the same for the remote whether it is separate or switchblade.

carandtruckremotes says:

This procedure will only program the remote portion.
Then key must be separately programmed by a dealer or an automotive locksmith.

carandtruckremotes says:

If the car is responding initially, there may be something going on with the remote. If the car does not respond to the programming procedure before you get to the remote part you may need to “reboot” the car by disconnecting the car’s battery for about 15 mins and then trying the programming again.

carandtruckremotes says:

If you program both remotes during the same procedure, it will retain programming for both remotes.

ALEXFVHS says:

I have 2004 mazda 3S and i not able to find anything like this on their website. When I called them lady said they dont have switch blades only 2010 and up lol

Richard Vasquez says:

By programming it as shown in the video will the key also turn on the car or does it have to have a separate programming???

Farouk Youssef says:

Hi there i have 2009 Mazda 6 i made all the instruction that u mention i arrived until the door sign “lock unlock ” and then i hit the remote botton 2 times and there is no action,,any help?

kevin chen says:

Is there any way to save the old key,let it still works when programming the new key?Otherwise the car will only keep one key that is working…
How to program two keys right on the same time? Thanks a lot~~

carandtruckremotes says:

Yes, these instructions should work for the 1999 Mazda 6 series.
