Mazda CX-5 Remote Start Install | Uses Factory Remote

Mazda CX-5 Remote Start Install | Uses Factory Remote

Installation procedure for Accessorides remote start system for 2016 Mazda CX-5

I decided to purchase this kit as it uses the factory vehicle remote to start the vehicle. With the exception of the 3 months it took to get this in shipping thanks to COVID, the installation was extremely simple and the kit contents were great. Huge fan of the trim removal piece included in the kit as it is a nice addition to the tool box. After a few months of use there has been zero issues.

At only $350 for this kit compared to the $1000 that Mazda asks for theirs, this is an extremely affordable alternative that functions as well or better than factory.

Great job on the video, this made the install SO MUCH EASIER!! Did the install on a 2019 CX-5 yesterday and there were a couple updates since this video was made, #1 you don't have to ship the module back for programming, it is ready to go out of the box! #2 you DO NOT want to run the cord through the blinker module toward the steering column at all, just run it below outside with the other wires and secure out of the way #3 after the installation of the hardware, FOLLOW the direction sequence for programming the unit to the car, I followed the directions in the video and that didn't work at all, so I disconnected the battery again for 5 min and followed the written directions with the module and it works great! Just adding some insight on their updated version, great job again on the video, much appreciated!!

But I was wondering if it auto locks the car too? I don't think that has to anything to do with remote start my 2016.5 CX-5 uses proximity sensors to auto lock

Ryan Walters says:

I have a 2019 Mazda cx-5 grand touring I want to install this in but don’t want to do it myself will any installation place do this?

Alvina Perry says:

I understand there is an update to the unit. But I was wondering if it auto locks the car too?

John Shireley says:

Editing to add: the OP pointed out that the shipping time was so long because it was during COVID stuff going on. So, that's fair enough. 3 months. Wow. I wonder how many people watched this video, had to replay you saying that several times because it's kind of quiet, and then instantly decided, "nope".

Andrew Clark says:

You can tell there was a three month wait because mustache

Plagues138 says:

I know I'm a bit late, but does the remote start just leave the car on indefinitely? Or is there a a timer where it will turn off after X minutes?

Hey Steve, thanks for doing this video. I got mine installed on my 2016.5 CX-5 and when I went to test it, it worked just one time. Now, it'll attempt to start the vehicle, but doesn't actually turn over. I reached out to Accessorides, but haven't heard back yet. Does anyone have a possible solution?

Chris says:

Wait, I don't see anywhere in the instructions about sending back the module. Is this not turnkey installation? As in, install the kit and be able to use the remote start function same day?

oxwah says:

Thanks for this. Their instructions are not good at all. It took me about an hour to do the first phase of the setup. If I ever had to do it again, the process would be MUCH faster. I'm just hoping it doesn't take 3 months to get my unit back.

Steve Davis says:

Thank you! I have been looking for a good install video for about a year!

Graham says:

You’re the man Steve!

Matt D says:

Very nice! It will be interesting if this is an option for the new CX-5s that have that BS monthly charge for remote starting through their App.

willy2818 says:

Can I used for one mazda 3 2018

Ryan Sessin says:

Hey where does the jumper plug into??

MAZDA VN SHOP NHA TRANG says:

How much for kit bro?

dballare says:

Thanks for the video. Just completed the install and getting ready to send the module back. Does anyone know if I need to send back the Smart Start Phone Control module?

Enrique Villavicencio says:

Thank you for posting this video. I purchased the kit from the same company and I was having a hard time following the installation process. I was able to do it myself, got the module back two weeks later after the initial update and done!
