Great advice about the relay tip. My girlfriend has a 2007 mod. And the
blower motor stop and starts by itselves. The dealer wants 8000 nkr for
change the blower motor. After i saw your advice, i controled the relay and
change it. saved me for alot of work,,thanks

what a complete cluster fuck of a car. no bullshit.

royjam1 says:

Glad it worked that of course made it easy as hell compared to removing
that darn fan

royjam1 says:

Before placing the hose on the port inject a little bit of freon into the
hose to preventing unneeded air and moister from getting into the system.
Connect the hose to the port and check how much pressure the system is
pushing. If the gauge says you are low then simply fill the system up with
the required amount of freon. The directions on the coolant container will
give you more instructions on how to hold the can.

Hey I am not saying it was easy but I just did the whole job without
removing anything but the glove box then the air box. And I was only
bleeding a little when I was done. You couldn’t have overly big hands
probably and it was quite uncomfortable on the floor of the car but I did
it in about an hour.

thank you for adviced , i is same case in my mazda 3 2004. change reley and

Thanks so much for posting this. You just convinced me to never do this
myself. 🙂 That right there is a nightmare of a job and a lot of time and
effort to fix an auxiliary system. wow.

I am having the hardest time removing the brake pedal. I took out the
battery box and computer. I unbolted the master cylinder and i pulled it
back a few inches but i still cannot push back the grey rubber housing
where the brake pedal is. Is there something I missed?

royjam1 says:

@RLCastaneda8 No I just connected it back up there is no need to do any
kind of start up process

DrWonderEyes says:

nice video. i wonder who inspired you….. since it looks like MY video.

royjam1 says:

You are very welcome and yes its a pretty challenging job, hope you get it
all worked out

lavillafootball says:

Can you tell me how you disconnected the wire clip from the blower motor? I
have removed all the necessary parts; but I just can’t disconnect the wire
from the blower motor. Did you use any special tools? Thanks for the grate
video.

vrobert1979 says:

how do you recharge the freon on a mazda 2006? where would it be at? TY for
the video

coolplayer3210 says:

I ad the same thing happen to me , i got lucky i change the relay and it
work 🙂

I hate this car. Glad its getting sold.. after pulling the dashboard to
replace the expansion valve so I can get AC working before sale in hot as
hell California.. Whole car is poorly designed.

surfergrl4880 says:

@royjam1 how long did this job take? I cant do it myself and need to take
it to a shop.

Roberto Castaneda says:

When you disconnected the computer for the car, did you have to go through
a start up when you reconnected it? I’ve read that if you disconnect the
fuses on the passenger side, you have to go through a start up process when
you reconnect them.

royjam1 says:

@surfergrl4880 If I worked on it from start to finish it would have taken a
few hours like maybe 5-6 hours, however I did have to wait 2 days for the
fan resistor to come in from Mazda however my local auto parts store had
the motor.

royjam1 says:

@RLCastaneda8 By “master cylinder” I think you mean you unbolted the entire
brake booster from inside the car. Once that is done you will unbolt the
fastener that connects the booster to the actual pedal. The only thing left
from there is unbolt the actual pedal from the firewall. Now there is one
bolt that is pretty high up on the pedal which is pretty hard to get to you
might be missing that one. Other than that ya just gotta wiggle it out of
there.

computerrebooter says:

What tools did you use remove (just) the blower motor and resistor? Thx.

royjam1 says:

No problem, and no I did not use any special tools I think I did use a
small screwdriver to press down the clip to remove it, its just that its
very tight up in there and just takes a few tries to get it out. Unless
you already did it do not remove the ring that holds the motor in place
cause that makes it harder. Not to mention if I remember I was on my back
looking up in there and had to use my left hand which is very hard for me.
Good Luck

royjam1 says:

No problem glad to help. To recharge the AC system first you need to find
the low side port of the AC line there should be a cap on it with an “L”
for low side on it. Also the cap that attaches to the low side will not fit
on the low side so its pretty hard to mess that up. Once you remove the cap
its a good idea to clean the port you would be surprised how little dirt
getting in the system can ruin something. You will need a can of freon with
a pressure gauge on it.

computerrebooter says:

sorry “to ” remove

royjam1 says:

@DrWonderEyes Of course it looks like your video we did the same thing.
However my video added some things that yours missed such as the fuses,
relays and most important the fact that you don’t have to remove the
steering column saving tons of work.
