I would not remove the emergence brake lever from the emergence cable. My
2001 Ford Ranger was very difficult to hook back up. Easy er to leave on
,then remove the clip – connect on new shoe. Thanks for the video, It was
very helpful.

ChrisFix says:

Yea, you could do that. Thanks for the tip/comment!

ChrisFix says:

Yea man, you def should. I would have if they had the parts in stock. Since
it is my daily driver, and they didnt have the parts, I needed to just get
the job done

ChrisFix says:

Thanks man! Yea, I try to make the best videos I can! As for the drums vs
discs, I totally agree discs are better. The only reason cars have drums
today is because it is cheaper. Back in the day it was a good design
because it was cheap and doable. But with today’s technology, all cars
should have disc brakes!

ChrisFix says:

No prob! Im glad it is helpful and thanks for the feedback!

What do you mean “to start”? It is easiest to lift the truck from the rear
differential so that will lift both tires. It has to be in neutral in order
to spin the tires because the transmission is connected to the rear tires
via the driveshaft. Certain differentials will allow you to spin the rear
tires even in park, so you can try it in park and if it doesnt work, throw
it in neutral…

Dennis Thompson says:

do you have to have both tires up and in neutral to start?

ChrisFix says:

GREAT!!! That is the idea! Good luck and glad this video helped!

Nice video man! U made it look so easy, yet very informative :). Im doing
my friends rear drum brakes this weekend on his 2000 kia spectra. Hope i
don’t run into any trouble.

ChrisFix says:

Glad it helped! You need some resistance so that when you press on the
brakes it doesnt smack the drum. When the brakes get broken in, they will
be set perfect if they are just lightly touching after installation.

ChrisFix says:

Great! Im glad to help!!!
