People hate them because they require a lot of maintenance and care
compared to a traditional piston engine. This isn’t much of a problem for
motorheads but for everyday people it’s too much of a hassle and they end
up going through a lot of hassle because they treat it like an every day
beater. You need to treat this car like you would treat a high end sports
car.

can you please give me a link for this keyless system?

dino1now says:

Can’t post links but digital guard dawg do the button and Asian wolf do the
keypad. Instructions come with both.

Hey dino, me again: I would greatly appreciate a walkthrough. I cant get

Thanks for posting the video.

I tryed to find the website in google.com but its show just products here
in the untied states. You should do it your self video. It would be a plus

dino1now says:

The RX8 has a bad press because the engine will lose compression if you run
it low on oil and this will kill the motor a rebuild will cost 3K. If
looked after, like any high performance car, it will be very reliable and
last well in excess of 100K miles. The easy way to keep it running is
always keep the oil topped up and never turn the car off cold. Keep revs
below 4K till it warms up. Change coils leads and plugs every 30K and oil
every 6K. Many owners pre-mix to keep the apex tips lubricated.

dino1now says:

@npeblanche The start button is available from Digitalguarddawg and comes
with a comprehensive wiring diagram to suit all types of cars. Depending on
what setup you have will depend how you integrate the start button. I would
be happy to guide you through the setup.

why do people hate rotary engines? How much miles would it make per gallon?
and whats the only thing you need to do to keep the engine safe when you
start it and when u turn it off? i dont have any ideas on rotary engines
but i really like these cars. Need some advise how to keep the engine safe.
And the thing is where i live there is no1 who fixes rotary engines, Would
it be a problem? Or i can just take it to a normal mechanic? Please Help.
Thanks for your time reading this.

Hi, Which size did fits the Mazda RX8 is T19mm or the 25mm?

dino1now says:

You only need to tap into the power supply for key positions 1 and 2 and
the starter crank wires plus the 12v supply to the plug. You will also need
a ground which you should route through the keypad so the button will not
work till the code has been entered. I also routed the crank wire via the
clutch switch so the starter doesn’t crank unless the clutch is down. You
could also go via the brake light if you prefer. This method gives you a
working system. The key can be cut down and covered. TBC

Thanks, I have been thinking of doing a DIY, just got to find the time and
I am in the process of adding a fingerprint scanner to my current set up so
that will have to be included. I am a member of the RX8Club and the UK
version too.

npeblanche says:

Where did the keypad come from?

36349064 says:

wow impressive… you should do a diy … are you a memeber of the rx8club?

Timothy Danielson says:

I would also be very interested in a installation guide. If you made a DIY
in the Rx8club.com forum, I would enjoy appreciating your hard work. I
think the combination you achieved here is the definitive method for
security, and ease of use. The keypad also deactivates for a while, after 4
failed attempts. During this time, it is impossible to start the car. This
too is ideal. Great job!!

npeblanche says:

What about the actual start button. I really like what you have done. Would
you be interested in a walk through of installation?

dino1now says:

The plug removed from the back of the barrel should be hidden away from the
barrel and tie wrapped so it would be very difficult for a thief to
reconnect anything, but even if he did, as you will have cut two of the
wires the key would not work until they had been fixed. A permanent
solution would be to remove the barrel completely together with the
steering lock. You could then mount the start button where the key used to
go. Hope this helps. A motor electrician should be able to do it in 2 hrs

dino1now says:

Glad you have the keypad installed and connecting it through the start
button is easy. The easy way to go keyless is to dismantle one of your
keyfobs. Take the chip out of the main plastic part and tie wrap it inside
the steering column close to the barrel. disconnect the plug from the back
of the barrel and insert the key in the keyhole and turn to position two.
This has now bypassed the key security and the steering lock. You then
connect the start button using the wires off the plug. TBC
