For $600 I think they must of quoted her on like a balancing as well cus just for a new belt is crazy. I think national average for that is like $140

Or some vehicles have the belt routing diagrams on the inside of the hood or on top the radiator fans ✅️

Dealership are trash. I remember changing my mother valve cover gasket and serpentine belt and spark plugs . Dealer wanted 1800 . I did it for free .
This dude should have change out the stretch belt for the water-pump and replaced the tensioner while he was doing this job. 6 months from now… that tensioner will seize…. causing the new serpentine belt to burn up which will likely take out the stretch belt for the water pump as well. Then you’ll be replacing both belts again and the tensioner. Save yourself from paying double on belts and labour and do the tensioner and stretch belt when you change out that serpentine belt! Buy once, cry once people.
Why is the belt so inaccessible
its crazy how they made it so difficult for you to switch out a belt. Just to discourage people to work on it themselves.
I am glad it only takes 5 minutes to repalce my belts in my 88 celebrity no trips to the dealer for me. Not that my local GM dealer can even work on my car anymore it is older than most of their techs

You don't need to remember OR draw the routing.
Smooth pulleys interface with the back of the belt. Grooved pulleys interface with….the grooved side of the belt.
That's all you need to know, to figure it out in seconds.
Local Ford dealer quoted me $575 to change serpentine belt and it took me like 15 minutes.

That's a lie, no way it costs 600 for a belt. I charge £20 for a aux belt change. Without the part ofc, just labor.
Done this belt on a mazda 3 with the same engine. Less workspace and they're a much bigger pain. Good to see its not so bad on the cx-5
Only replacing the belt is a half arse job… no wonder you only charge 135$
