This was great video. Thankyou so much for making it and walk through. This was really informative
I have an automatic 2010 mazda 3 which started jerking when shifting through the gears. i changed the ATF and it still continued and later on the car lost power while i was driving and it wouldnt engage any gear. The mechanic says i need to change my gear box and tcm. While all this was happening i never had any warning lights come on. Any thoughts or comments ?
Thanks AMG! I’m dealing with a similar issue with my daughters Mazda 3. My plan was to replace the transmission input / output speed sensors (which I will still do) but, for sure I will disconnect the TCM and use electronic cleaning spray as well as to relocate the module away from the heat source based on your experience here. At a minimum – it can’t hurt, but that might be my actual problem too.
Can you tell me which tools you used for the job?
Spectacular video AMG, you went into great detail just wish you had listed the tools you used and sizes. I am going to be doing this job myself as well and this will be my step by step guide. Thank you so much for your time.
Perhaps inserting a thick piece of heat-resistant material between the TCM and transmission body would alleviate the TCM thermal damage.
Good day I have a Mazda 3 2005 module and a Mazd Exella 2016 Module ,but my tcm is not located under the battery box.Any ideas where it can be please
I have the AT light on on my 2010 Mazda 3 (214,000km) It has been on since 180,000km. The only issue is that I cannot drive the car in manual mode but it shifts perfectly in automatic. I have just chosen to ignore it.
I have a shift solenoid f code. What do you think about it? Can it be tcm? Thank you for the video.
I just got this, should I be worried about driving with this to the mechanic? Is it better to tow the car?
