These Lotus bodies are incredibly difficult to work on. Massive respect for doing this and providing an example of how it should be done. Sadly these cars never started to carry value worthy of this level of work and I’m still on the fence if they’re there yet, but I’m glad you’re doing it all the same.
I’ve built a couple of these engines for performance in the past using modern cam profiles and higher compression. 200hp in one of these is incredible

That's a neat looking frame there! Easy access means you will see & can actually get to all those places that you would never have otherwise noticed. Way to make the job

I love this YouTube presentation but am I really dumb ? How is the finished car getting down to ground ( road ) level ?
We use colloidal silica (technically fumed silica, but it looks like there’s regional differences in what it’s called) in some of our products at my job. It’s a bit of a nightmare to work with, because when we mix it into our product it changes the viscosity, but not in a linear way. It turns it into a non-newtonian “rheopectic” fluid, where the viscosity increases with time under shear (which is how the viscosity is measured), making it really difficult to get an accurate measurement.
