I had an FL1 code which I discovered was due to lack of water flow through
the flow switch. The circulation pump ceased up. The pump was hot, but not
pumping. This video was about the only helpful thing I found that helped
diagnose and fix the issue. Fortunately my pump didn’t have a capacitor so
didn’t have to deal with that. Got the motor spinning again, hooked it back
up and every things working again. I plan on buying a new pump as the
current one is 14 years old and making more noise than it should. Just
wanted to say thanks for the video. Saved my time and money!
I took my pump out and then put it back with new o rings but it still leaks
on exhaust side . I have a beachcomber spa and ideas?
The pump motor on my eclipse spa stopped working so I decided to replace
the pump motor unit. The new motor is running very slow and is tripping
the circuit breaker. What else might be wrong? Thanks for your help.
depends on which pump you need. I would just get the model info off the
pump and look them up on google. normally they get updated part #’s that
you can then cross search until you find some sites to check against as
competitors. I go over this briefly in the video.
most often it is the pressure switch that fails on the heater. sounds like
your motor has trash in the start switch.. look for your local pool pump
motor repair guy w/ free testing
what did you connect your bonding wire to from your circulation pump? The
pump already has a ground coming into it why is this outside ground nut
needed?

never test two speed motors unless you know what you are doing, you can
burn up a motor in just a few seconds ! rebuild motor new bearings and a
shaft seal i charge $150.00 do not try to take the pump end or motor apart

Mine was not spinning at all. the filter area waterfall was not even on.
Only could be the control panel, the spa pack, or the motor. I unhooked the
motor and spliced in an old 110v light plug and plugged it directly into a
wall socket bypassing all the electronics and it would not turn on. I
tested the capacitor and it was good…as you see in the video. only thing
left is the motor itself. If the motor turned on, I would have started
diagnosing the spa pack and control panel.
I just replaced my old circ pump (Waterway 56 Executive 4hp) with a new one
from spa depot. However, when I got the new pump going it got VERY hot,
where I couldnt touch it for longer than 2 seconds. I called the spa depot
and they said all my wiring was correct and it was normal for the brand new
pump to get really hot when it starts. However, online everyone says its
bad that you cant touch it. It has been 100 degrees outside here lately in
Illinois but something just doesnt seem right? Thanks
How did you know the heater circulating pump needed replacing — did it get
hot to the touch while the spa was running —–??? mine has the slight hum
in it but the water hoses dont look like any flow is going thru them and
the motor gets pretty hot ….
