Henderson Lu, they were the stock side pull brakes that came with the bike.

any chance a 700c long reach caliper brake will fit to a 27 1 1/4 rim ?

Thanks for show all the works! This should help to assemble my touring
bike!

not sure if you care about this…but on ergo levers there is a button on
the lever, when pushed to the outside, it is in a quick release position.
thats why the top of the lever was under the hood. when normally riding the
button should be pushed to the inside to achieve a better angle of the
lever. Because you tuned this with buttons to the outside, it is in the
wrong mode and will make the quick release function useless. should
probably tuned this with the buttons to the inside so it would be more
comfortable and easier to grab as well as have a functioning quick
release.

Henderson Lu says:

Just wondering, what kind of brake calipers are being used on the bike?
Sorry I’m not too familiar with bike terms because I’m kind of new to
installing bicycle parts

Nice work, but you may have forgotten the quick release buttons on the
levers. ;)

This is the most helpful video on the web that I’ve found on adjusting
vintage bike brakes. Thank you!

I just got a pair of these for my 1986 Bridgestone. Haven’t installed them
yet. Get a nice pair of 28mm Kenda Kwest tires and MKS touring pedals and
you’re all set. Nice vid thanks.

Great video! For the rear brake cable I don’t mind if it is just tight
enough to prevent the front brake side pull arm to be able to touch the
down tube as the fork is rotated to the right. Just to help prevent nicks
on the frame when the bike is handled abit carelessly and the front flops
around.

Dilengerman says:

Very nice. I was trying to figure out how or if it was even possible to do
this set up,this past July 2013 this video will help out many many people
thank you.
