Nice review. Lincoln’s a super set up no matter which box you buy. Love
they stuff. They host a local welding day for my car club every year near
Seattle. Just love their products overall. from little buzz boxes to
plasma cutters and fat multi-format units for TIG, MIG, and arc.

Excellent choice.

Where do you get your gas from. I’m from Ontario Canada too and am looking
to get this welder but would like to know if the gas is easy to get. Good
vid.

Will Boyd says:

Got a Daytona Mig welder 15 yrs. ago. Only learned how to use it 3 yrs.
ago by going to the community college and taking the basic course. I was
the only one in the class who was not a welder already. Most of the
students had 10-15 yrs. experience in the shipyards, but contract
requirements now are for certified welders (no certificate=no job) and the
certificate requires knowledge of geometry, chemistry, metalurgy,
trigonometry ….these guys had all gone from high school to a welding job,
But today, without the certification, you can’t get a job welding on
roads/bridges, ships, airplanes, etc. Anyplace where the manufacturer
might get sued if a weld fails. So some extent that probably applies to
every weld anybody does except on their own equipment. BTW, I thought your
welds looked very good.

LoudandDave says:

Get the nozzle in a bit closer to your work. You have too much wire out,
looks like you are back a good inch maybe more. Try to get in closer to
1/2″ to 3/4 of an inch, it really makes a difference. And SLOW DOWN. Let
that puddle fill in before you move. It doesn’t make as much difference on
surfacing beads but on T joints and lap joints it makes a BIG difference
especially if you don’t want undercut or not enough wetting in on the
edges.

HyralProductions says:

did you change the polarity of the machine?if you got the machine with FLUX
CORE setup the polarity is inverted, that is not the sound you want to hear
when you are mig welding,i know that you uploaded this video almost
2,5years ago,but i just wanted to say this:D

Charles Mills says:

what made you decide to get a lincoln as apposed to a miller, was it
cost.also you said $75.00 for the gas,did that include the tank

U have the one u cant change out to spool gun sweet

chappy726 says:

I enjoy your vids donyboy73. Quick question: did your 180c come with all
the gear you needed to run 0.045″ wire?
I bought the Home Depot version and the 0.045″ wire requires a gun liner,
0.045″ feeder sprocket and gun tip that comes in a kit with 10lbs roll of
wire. Of course HD or the other stores dont stock this kit which
apparently retails for about $C175 if you can find a place to order it.
The larger wire is needed for welding 3/8 to 1/2″ material (which is why I
went with the 180 in the first place!). People thinking about these
machines might like to know for price comparison. If the 180c comes with
all that 0.045″ gear for thicker work material then it is a way better
deal.
Is that a prairie Mennonite accent I detect ? ;)

maineville prepper says:

When welding with gas your metal needs to be clean. When you weld with
flux core the metal can be dirty because the flux core acts as a 6010 or a
6011 AC rod would. It would cut through the crud.

bkpickell says:

Where do you live? I pay $30 for cylinder exchange at my local welders
services shop. And my cylinder looks to be the same size as yours. Mine is
the 125CF cylinder.

Eric Lyng says:

They use letters so the user does not associate the number with the amount
of volts and assume the wrong voltage.

Charles Mills says:

wow,im surprised the tank cost so much,i everything still working as it
should

Christopher McCLelland says:

I bought this welder when they first came out. Still works good.

73 SUPERGLIDE says:

Big spool is better valve if do a lot .I think small job

Silk Boxing says:

Hello, I been restoring dirt bikes for about 2 years now and want to get
into fabricating some frames, etc. Could you recommend a welder kit I could
use for small Jobs at home without breaking the Bank. New to
welding….Thanks fro any info.

73 SUPERGLIDE says:

Not to shabby on the welding sir :)

Andrew82688 says:

Your holding the tip to far from the metal

AssGrabber B says:

Well that seems a little better than my Lincoln 140.

DMIMAGE says:

What size bottle 60 or 80? Did you get the bottle through TSC? Looking for
one for my new Lincoln 140. Good video.

Eric Agront says:

i think the letter setting is choice by thickness of the metal and type..
like steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum & Steel mix.

gary mathews says:
