In this video I show you how I service and replace the rear brake pads and rotors on a Lincoln MKX, which is a rebadged Ford Edge.
I show one side, the other side is the same just a mirror image.

The exact vehicle is a 2013 Lincoln MKX.

I'm concerned with the anti seize getting on the brake drum surface. If you put it in surfaces not near it, that's one thing but near it…I don't know if I'd use it there.

What if that dampener thing stripped? And the Torx inside the dampener is corroded due to salt from the winter! My torx bit couldn’t grab it and my 13mm wrench couldn’t grip the dampener. What would be resolution

We work very similar but you showed me something I did not know about before, had to do a search and so lucky I found what you did. That task for me would be twisting a caliper piston back in rather than tools I don't know what to do with any long.

Completed the rear brakes on my 13 MKX tonight. It's a reasonably easy job as described by Big Dog50001, unless you run into a fastener problem. Initially couldn't break the T40 torx screw holding on the rotor. Fortunately my neighbor works as a mechanic on fork lifts and had a special tool that in concert with a small sledge hammer broke the bolt loose. My cordless impact wrench wasn't powerful enough.

Second problem I faced was with the right side anti-vibration/dampner bolt that fastens on the lower part of the caliper bracket/slider assembly. It would not come off using the 13 mm box wrench. To get it off, I had to unscrew the Dampner (it took some effort) with some large pliers and then used a hacksaw to cut off the extension piece to allow me to get a special socket on the end of the damaged/stripped bolt head at the Caliper bracket. NOTE: There is nothing on the end of the bolt that the dampner attaches to use to help turn the bolt (i took the plastic cover off to check). I heated it up first, then put the socket on and with some leverage on the ratchet handle, broke the bolt free. If you live in an area that has salt applied to the roads in the winter, beware and remember to use some anti-seize to avoid having the bolts get stuck from corrosion. Would recommend pre-purchasing the Ford caliper pin/bolt kit to have on hand in case you need it.
