How to repair a Lincoln Navigator with Wheel Noise

How to repair a Lincoln Navigator with Wheel Noise

Noise was occurring on acceleration from about 15-20MPH under load. Noise was coming from the LF wheel area. Noise went away when vehicle was engaged in 4X4….

Jake Payne says:

Nair seen video like dat….where ya put tha camera.?

DoctorD907 says:

I mounted the camera to the lower control arm. I forgot to mention that
also on hard acceleration sometimes the traction control light comes on and
there is reduced power. I should monitor wheel speeds and see what is going
on there.

Jake Payne says:

It probably normal for light ta come on when ya juicing it. Just can’t come
to terms on whA dat is. Maybe calipers, maybe a bearing. Throw a hub on the
left while ya doing the caliper. Find problemo thru doing. Sometimes doing
do do is the way to a bingo. Dat laugh was nice last night but me think dat
laugh is tha one ya do before all hell breaks loose….hehheheehe

DoctorD907 says:

Resolved: Found vacuum leak near 4X solenoid causing low vacuum under
acceleration and partial engagement of LF hub and resulting noise.

MrGreasybob says:

It’s the IWE trying to engage the left front wheel due to vacuum loss when
the engine vacuum is low ( under acceleration ) No squirrels were injured
during the filming of this video

DoctorD907 says:

@franzjimenez1 The solenoid is located against the firewall behind the
battery. Corrosion from the battery can erode the plastic lines also water
can leak into the solenoid from around the hood area. Put a vacuum pump on
the line from the solenoid to the IWE hubs and see if it hold vacuum first.
Also a gauge connected to supply vacuum source should have manifold vacuum
at idle. Good luck!

franz jimenez says:

Where is that solenoid located? I have the same same thing happening on a
2003 .

Jake Payne says:

Me made a tip on Mitchell bouts this Tim. Hope dat ok wid ya. Put it all
over tha place. Maybe help the troops ya know. Dr.Jake,aye.
