Yes, the fuel pump can be changed out of the assembly. You will need an E2471 fuel pump & an FS198 fuel strainer. There are instructions with the pump on changing the pump out of the assembly. We also have a video that shows changing out the pump. After the assembly is out it is not very difficult to replace the pump. Unfortunately, we do not sell the sending unit separately. You would have to purchase and replace the complete assembly. I replaced my entire fuel pump and sending unit a few years ago and now my fuel gauge is not working. I suspect its the sending unit and not the pump as the expedition runs just fine. Do you know if they sell just the sending unit or do I have to replace the entire unit?
