Hey Bro, i would like to have your opinion on my situation! I have a F350
2006. The first set of hubs were seized. and so i changed them (about 5
years ago. Ever since then, i had to get out and manually switch them into
lock position. Now, what happens is, when i switch the 4×4 switch to 4high,
the light on the dash comes on, i hear the gear mechanism underneath turn
on, and after 5 seconds, it turns off. If i try to get 4low, both lights
come on, but within 5 seconds, both lights go back off. Now i knew this was
a miracle, the other day i was delivering a pallet of cement, and the
pallet fell of the truck, and i stopped right under the crown of a hill,
and i said a quick prayer, and switched it to 4high, and it stayed on long
enough to manually engauge the hubs, and i got out with ease… Can you
tell me what you think is wrong with my 4×4??

Daniel Lozano says:

Great video! Just got my lifted f250 stuck in a small puddle pretty
embarrassing lol. My 4×4 wasn’t engaging but I really hope this could fix
it. Thank you so much

Riley Shine says:

Hi, great video! What website did you by the PVH from?

Adrian Edwards says:

thanks for the info. The part number is 7C3Z-9H465-A for people like me
trying to freeze the video at the exact right moment! It’s the same for my
2003 F-350. My problem is that the PVH gives vacuum to the hubs, but only
for a couple of seconds. Research tells me it should give a vacuum for 45
seconds when you engage 4wd, and 15 seconds when you disengage. Just
ordered a new PVH, hope it does the job. Thanks for making the video, it
really helped!

Thanks for the time you spent on this demo.
Now I know what to look for. cheers.

waterman308 says:

just found your video. wondering if you could shed some light… mine is
an 03 Expedition. noticed that under load, the vent went to
defrost/default mode. when not under load, vent operated. I found that if I
bypass the 4×4 vac solenoid on the firewall on psgr side, the vent will
work even under load. I then assumed there was a leak downstream of the
4×4 solenoid. Then I tried to put it into 4×4 hi or low and no dash light
indicating the hubs are locking, and there is no actual 4×4 engaging. What
might be your suggestion to test next? Thank you for your video.

Muhamet Ali says:

Thanks for this video it helped alot. I have to ask though, I noticed your
instrument panel in your video, is it aftermarket? If so can I ask where
you got it??

Paul fisher says:

I have the problem where my vaccum is ok, When I turn the switch, the 4×4
light won’t even come on!!

Benny Hatton says:

I have the same problem and everything checks out even the defrost. I’ve
got a 08 with the 6.4 and it doesn’t go to the default position vent but
still nothing with the 4×4. Light on and nothing. How do you know your
vacuum pump wasn’t faulty? Mines not working at all.

Michael Groom says:

I have a 2006 F150. When I turned the 4×4 shift knob sometimes it would
work if I waited a few minutes but would stay in 4, now the indicator
stopped coming on altogether, not working now. Shift motor out or vacuum
problem? I need help.. Thanks Mike

Dan Conn says:

Thanks Bob great video. I did the defrost check with no problems, checked
relays next to driver battery and they looked good and I could hear them
click in when I turned the switch to 4X4, pulled the double vacuum
connector at the PHV Solenoid and could hear the vacuum tank drain and the
vacuum pump started, put the connector back on and the pump stopped after
maybe a minute, also could hear air flow at the vacuum tank when switching
to 4 X 4. Any suggestions? FYI I tried to find the PVH price on line with
no luck?

Gloria McNulty says:

Thanks for the video was very informative. My issue with my four wheel
drive is, when I engage the switch to four wheel high/low drive the four
wheel dash indicator doesn’t turn on. I did try the vent-defroster test,
but did not have the issue of defaulting to the defroster.

Kevin Rogers says:

anything with a diesel f250 and up should have nothing but OEM parts, just
my views:)
