Jake Payne says:

Flock didn’t show up. I pulled the f150 in 38 minutes by myself.

Jake Payne says:

The dash can be like a soda cracker and just fall apart or explode. You
have to remove the whole box on that I think. Evac the freon and get out
all the screws. Remove the hvac dept. Best to use dealer heater core,
anything else probably won’t not fit.

Jake Payne says:

We are going do one Sat and video it for 100 dollar. Come be a spectator to
make sure it real. It ULL take about 15 to 20 minutes out. Bout an hour or
so on the put back. That’s about 40 to 50 dollars an hour. Been doing this
40 years mate. I’m 58 yr old… Saturdays is whatever day….Me would
prefer cutting grass w/my hi-speed Hustler Super Z w/Hyperdrive Racing lawn
mower. I do that cheap too just for the fun.

Jake Payne says:

Bring to us, we do em for a 100 dollar. A bit more if it needa blend door.

Jake Payne says:

We’ve increased our speed a little, about 14 minutes now. Gotta 03
silverado to do tomorrows. It about the same way. A bit longer. Bout 25
minutes on that one. Thays no gaurantee given here it will help you. You
may need better help than us on the procedures.

Richard Whiskey says:

As a Ford Master Tech, you will never see me “hacking” the heater box. The
correct procedure is to remove the plenum, evacuate a/c. But it looks like
you hacks get off on making dealers look bad. Hopefully you stay at Hack
Motors and don’t migrate into the professional world.

Tariq Khan says:

What do you guys know about 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I’m trying to change the
heater core. I took out all the bolts and screws I could possibly see but
im still unable to remove the Dashboard to get behind it and replace the
heating core. I need help. Why can’t I remove the Dashboard. I’ve even
uploaded a video if what I did. Help please.

michael landrum says:

i just want to know what dick head thought it was a good idea to move the
heater core from behind the glove box to the center of the dash, can
someone please answer that for me.

glen john says:

where the hell you located at I will bring mine to you

Jake Payne says:

Bring it to us…We like doing these.

Jake Payne says:

Come on over Mr.Master Tech, we give ya some learning on this. It’s fun. We
don’t not charge 8 hours. We work for a carlot…Tavern Motors in
Laurens,SC.
The Video shows what we do, how we do in real time.

Rex Wheeler says:

Its not real. Its called chest thumping. Its the only way some peeps know
how to create leads. Is to devalue the industry and the professionals in
it. You could not stay in biz doing $100 heater core jobs, unless you do it
for fun. The numbers will not add up, and the whole entire universe is run
by numbers. Its not a real auto shop business model. Just saying, there are
plenty of rip-offs out there, but you can’t be a legit shop, sharing your
money with Uncle Sam and everybody else, and do this type of work for that
cost. Period.

Liliana Serrano says:

Where are you guys located?

Austin Anglin says:

Hi Jake, my 1997 Mercury Cougar / Thunderbird has to have a new heater
core.Have you ever changed one on either of these cars? If so how hard was
it?

Thanks

Roschell Diggs says:

I believe book time is for one man, and without powered tools. I did this
job on a 00 F150 in March. My first time doing it. Did it take a while?
Yea…but when you do them often being able to use memory instead of
deciphering what you need and don’t need to remove helps a lot. I had no
memory to go on. Nevertheless, job went fine. I’ve had folks surprised at
how fast I’ve had a few different vehicles torn down. All I tell is, “If
you had done this thirty times you’d be quick at it too.”

sprucewood57 says:

I had to leave your video upload after 11:00 min. was making me pissed off
that FORD engineers did this to us Ford truck owners. My 1985 F250 is
located just behind the glove box and I changed it out in 10 min. by
myself.

Victor Herrera says:

they do faster.but they took many parts.it;s more easy take the estering
colum out twoo i do many heater core,im think 4hour espend in ford car
expedition ,and f 150

ohiocomputerguy says:

seriously dude, you left the dash in front of the camera the entire video.
for all i know you were yerkin’ your gerkin’ behind that dash. not
helpful at all

walberto martinez says:

hey guys I know you have to disconnect the battery but do you have to put
the key in and turn the passenger air bag off?

Jonny Vravo says:

Im a master tech For Firestone..It takes me 45min to 1hr by my self in and
out..people get mad because we charge them half the labor of the dealer..if
it only takes 1hr..hahahahahaha..I love the look on their face when we tell
them is Ready…Wwhhhaaaattt..Its Ready!!!!!!But the dealer
said………lol..

eugenia richmond says:

im a master tech for ford and have been for 4 years, and I still cannot
complete a f-150 heater core in less than 6hrs!!!

Keith R says:

Okay, this was awesome. The only part I needed to see was getting the dash
loose in short order. My neighbor’s mechs didn’t even want to touch his
for less than 8 hour job.

toddbeestang says:

Your videos have helped me a lot through this job. I am not finished
because I bought a replacement Heater Core from a discount auto store and
it’s junk. Luckily I checked the pipe stems coming from the new one and
found one to be loose. The original Ford Heater core should be the only
part for this job which I see you have done. Only thing I would suggest is
moving the camera to the other side of the action when you get to the
Heater Core so we can see the rest. I figured it out anyway as i’m sure
most will. You’ll see that my comments are about a week apart. I did not
start on that day. Started on Thursday and it’s now Monday. Didn’t work on
it through the weekend and Friday was a bust because of the bad part.
Hopefully I’ll get the Real Ford part tomorrow and finish the job. Just
hope I don’t forget to plug something back in or have a hand full of screws
left over. Thanks guys. Saving lots of money doing it myself and with the
help of your videos. Thanks for not wasting bunch of time talking too much.
Some YouTubers talk wayyyy too much. You guys get to the business. Thanks
again

silverbird58 says:

plastic peice of shiet

ilililhy1 says:

My 1998 ford f150 Temp door broke right where the little metal band
is,which keeps the Heater from switching from hot to cold, cold to hot.I
took the plastic bottom of the vent off, stuck my hand up in there and
switched it manually by hand from cold to hot. There is no way I am going
to tear the whole dash out.and the manufacture should be SHOT,Pure and
simple .they are making junk for products and people are paying 40 to 60
thousand for new trucks?for plastic and shiny paint? Total Foolishness.

onlygrizzlywg says:

Is this tavern motors in Hickory Tavern?

kirbazoid says:

Couldn’t wait 26 min to smoke a cig? Total disrespect to the owner. Eeh eeh
eeh eeh! Piece of shit!

toddbeestang says:

And I thought this was a lot of work on my 65 Mustang. You’d think Ford
would put it right over your feet with a plastic cover instead of behind
the entire dash. Gawd, I don’t want to do this but I’m gonna have to.
Thanks for the GoPro version. It’s way better than your other video.

kirbazoid says:

They hate on you cuz your a shit talking hill billy.

valpro99 says:

Guys, the dash was completely in the way so I never did see the actually
replacement of the core.

MrTpengineer says:

Man, I so don’t feel like running new speaker wires to my front doors but
do (after watching this video). Same procedure for my f-150! But, what’s
gotta be done has got to be done I guess. ;)
