Harold Brown Sr. says:

It isn’t necessary to pull the whole regulator to replace the motor.
However there are three nylon bushings in the motor gear assembly. These
usually go bad, you can replace them with a kit from the dealer for less
than $5.00, cheaper than a motor.

Lewis Craven says:

can you do a rear window?

SuperMuenchow says:

Thanks for the video, was very helpful. I have a 96 Lincoln town car.
Drivers side window was in bad order. I purchased a motor and window
regulator both for less then $150.00 When I removed the motor & regulator I
found the regulator cable in bad order.I replaced both units.system works
beautiful. I would suggest that if the motor is in bad order, inspect the
cable on the regulator, if it shows signs of wear “replace it” Also expect
to lose a little blood. Marvin Muenchow Boerne, Texas

Ben Balanay says:

Thanks for the video. Great step by step process of checking the removing
and reinstalling of the regulator and motor, as well as the repair of the
motor.

ANT1989 says:

Also the parts that I ordered both the tracks that the windows roll up and
down on are both a little longer than the original tracks the car came with

iamthepuzzleman says:

I have done it for years. I know exactly what you mean. They never work out
the same way twice.

iamthepuzzleman says:

Not a clue. Sorry, but if you call any shop local to you they would be able
to give you an accurate price.

Ryan Veldhuizen says:

Thank you this was very helpful.

Ryan Storey says:

My window regulator cable snapped so thanks for show how to do it.

TomProctor75 says:

Can you remove the motor without removing the regulator?

Mikey Lungs says:

Thanks man, this video really helped me out!

SuperMuenchow says:

— Give this idea a try. Remove the panel, roll the window down, loosen the
two nuts on the top of the window regulator, roll the window up and tighten
the two nuts. This is how I did it,and it works great. Good luck—

iamthepuzzleman says:

It happens to me too. It’s an adjustment thing. You should notice that when
rolling your window up the window may tilt forward. You will need to work
on your adjustments until it rolls up smooth.

Johnny Frank says:

about how much would this cost to take it to an auto shop to do this?

bobgarner44 says:

this guys a riot …you can hear that motor w/o taking anything apart. That
sound is caused by the buttons in the gear found in the “HELP” section of
your parts store.Lube gear, regulator w/ grease.Lube window runs w/ dry
silicone.oh yea rivits at the bottom.

iamthepuzzleman says:

7:45 in the video I give a list of everything.

ANT1989 says:

Why is my window rolling down fast but up very slow and slowing to a crawl
at the very top. I just installed a brand new motor and regulator set for
both front windows….this is the most frustrating job I’ve ever tried.

Ryan Veldhuizen says:

I’m going to try and just remove the motor. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Ryan Storey says:

Showing me how to do it

SphereSide says:

Nice job, thanks.

ANT1989 says:

Alright, I’ll try that. Spent all day on just one window. No wonder people
would rather pay a bodyshop to do it. So annoying

siles2690 says:

What size bolts did you replace the rivots with

Anthony Yep says:

Thanks for the step by step, really helped me out on all 4 of my windows!

iamthepuzzleman says:

Ya’ know. I have never tried it that way, so I couldn’t honestly say for
sure.
