I just got my towncar out the shop and they didn’t know about that noise
yeah right lol. I’m trying to do this my self I’m glad I came on here
because its making that click sound so it is the actuator thanks guys for
the comments.

Was the dash real hard to take out? Thanks

jamesht85 says:

Took me like 2-1/2 hrs to take everything out, bc I like to put a tag on
each screw so I know exactly where each one came from. Took about 45
minutes to reinstall. I’m not sure if u will need help doin it but I was
able to complete the job alone. I did have to put one of my tool boxes
under the dash on the passenger side to keep it from falling down too far.

well under the glove but still under the dash of course. Pop up the
furthest forward plate on top of the dash (all the way against the
windshield) and remove all the little screws holding the vents up there and
the dash is off (besides removing a couple plates to get to these nuts and
bolts) and removing the little trims near the doors its that easy..than
follow this guys instructions on breaking the back 2 tabs off the old
actuator and installing the new one..its that easy.

Nathaniel Bush says:

Ok, I got it done without the diagram and only left a little crack in the
fake woodgrain trim (that as you can see in the very beginning of this vid
I did not have to remove) Anyway, it helps to loosen the four bolts holding
the steering column in place(but maybe not necessary)Theres one big a** nut
towards the left of the steering wheela up against the drivers door sort
of..a big not (but not quite as big) in almost the same place on the
passenger door,2 nuts or screws above the glove.

Hi. I am getting ready to replace the blend actuator in my 1993 Linc Town
Car. Can you email the screw diagram to me? tonyprinc67@gmail.com

Brandon Gchachu says:

Thanks for the upload. I’ve got a 94 town car to fix

jamesht85 says:

DO NOT use a blend door actuator from another model, i’m not sure if it
fits but one thing that you must realize is that A LOT of Ford vehicles
have defective actuator doors and it would save you a lot of hassle to just
buy a “Brand new” one. I also had to change an actuator on my 2005 ford
explorer. Also sorry to the rest of you for not responding to your posts.
if you still need the diagram, let me know.

Nathaniel Bush says:

I actually pulled out the broken tabs from the old actuator and took a pair
of pliers and loosed the bolts that were holding it in before so I could
leave half a tab on the new actuator and slip it into place..slipped right
in. A.C. works great. This vid helped me immensely. Thanks! Best 250-350
labor costs I ever saved. The job may seem frustrating but once you get it
apart your like oh..that was pretty easy. once back together you feel like
you could do the whole job in less than an hour

Tony Princ says:

Nope. I am planning to do it soon. Good timing!

Pierre Simon says:

how long is the process? and do you actually need 2 people to do the job?
