I own a 1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive series that the factory radio is going bad. The car has the premium JBL sound system with the amp in the back and all the wires have to be extended to put an after market Kenwood in. I originally purchased the incorrect haress adaptor and this turned out to be a bigger project than expected.
I could not find much information on this model and how to do the install on youtube or online, so after purchasing the correct wire kit I recorded the steps I took to hopefully help anyone else that mmay want to do the same.

Mine is a 1994 town car signature series. I may have to do the same as what you did.. I installed a dual aftermarket. The head unit works, but no sound from the speakers. Ugh.
great job. extremely helpful.
That Aaliyah started playing so it is all to the good
About to buy harness and set it up how the car doing lol i got 133,000 on my lincoln same one 1997
I need a radio installed in my Lincoln
The top part of your dash what’s holding it in place ?? Is it just clips like the other parts or is it held in with any screws at all , just double checking ? I’m like you I do not want to drill holes into the sides. I have a 90 I know it might be different but just had to ask bcuz that’s a good idea I just didn’t know if the dash can just pop up.. I was wrecking my brain on how to pull the tweet wires without drilling into the panels…
Where did you order the wire loom to go from the stereo to the back amplifier and how long are the wires?
I did this earlier today, I wired it up to the amp in the back and I got sound to come through but I have almost no bass. I think it may be because I haven't wired the 12 volt power and ground (the yellow and black wires at 9:18) that comes off the plug for the bypass harness, did you wire those into the amplifier? if not, do you know why I may not be getting any bass?
Where did you get the wire kit at
I found the harness on a eBay

LOL I got the same damn car, color, year etc. NOT looking forward to this part. Nor the installation of the hydraulics, but it will be worth it in the end.
