For Rav4 Prime Toyota actually removed half of the orange box covering the connector so there will be no dirt and salt accumulation. Some people say this is not a solution at all since the connector shield (mesh of thin wires) becomes exposed. This "solution " will simply delay the problem until the vehicle is well outside of any Toyota overage.
