I have a 2009 Rav4 limited V6, I took off the plastic covering around the column under the pedals but it seems to go down further into the flooring and I cant get to where it swivels. any suggestions?

Bobby C says:

Spread it around the shaft lol

Thanks for the tip. I just said my car was singing to me. I will give this a try and see if this is the issue. Thanks for the video and all of the good advice and cheers.

Egor Ilchenko says:

thanks for it ;). its help me

Rick H says:

Would Lithium grease work just as well?

Tenzack YOGI says:

Is Lucas Red N Tacky grease good for Steering column boot? I heard that it has lithium ingredients in it.

KatyyLesleyy says:

What about WD40 would that work?

Gleb Belogolovtsev says:

Thanks a lot, it was an issue for me and I thought power steering air bubles were to blame. Although I didn't have any special lube wd 40 has done the job.

Danny's Auto Repair says:

Great video, my steering wheel is making that noise. Thanks

Bob Gruenke says:

Great video, thanks for posting this! Worked as advertised.

Seth Tamporello says:

Cannot thank you enough for this! My Lexus dealer I thought took care of this for me and has been so noisy. Going to try this myself instead of taking it back to them.

Jayson Oliveira says:

Wow thanks man. Just noticed it and I bought the car like 6days ago. Not that mines is very load of a squeak but im gonna fix it……….OCD….lol

anya biong says:

I also had this with my honda civic fd. Will i fix it right the same thing?? Its squeaking annoyingly

Bunnie Dude says:

Did you notice any clunking/squeaking coming form the rear when going over little bumps? If so how did/would you address it?

Kevin Lucas says:

When I go over bumps, the steering wheel moves from right to left and over some imperfections on the road. I replaced the intermediate shaft but was a used one. What could it be?

Jae Suh says:

I just purchased the same bottle of dielectric grease, applied it to my 00 RX300, and the noise went away considerably. Do you know why this is better to use than any type of silicone spray or WD-40? How often would you recommend recoating the grease to that area? Thanks again!

K K says:

Thanks for the short and helpful video. Only video that showed me how to go from the steering wheel to the shaft area (the part where to apply the lube). I was too lazy to go buy a grease lube as I already had a silicone lubricant (that I use for garage door) that I tried and it fixed the squeaky noise of the steering wheel. Would have spent $$$ on this if I had taken the car to a auto shop.

pizza man82 says:

Ahahahaha
Same car as mine same issue

Smoky Patton says:

Thanks for the video. I applied spray silicone & it worked & will acquire dielectric grease if necessary in the future. Took about 2 minutes to fix something I was told a couple years ago was a steering column issue.
