I worked for Toyota Motor Sales in 1995. During my 1st day of employment at our orientation, I was advised that Lexus stood for Luxury EXport United States. It was printed in a book we were given that day.
Several of my friends still got their original Lexus LS400 on the road till today …….can't kill those old ones
Lexus wasn't even sold in Japan for over a decade after the US had it first ,they sold similar models under the Toyota brand

The Japanese are leaders in manufacturing.
They were taught by an American quality control guy whose name escapes me. American car manufacturers could build the same quality cars if they chose to.
BTW I have never owned a Japanese car. I believe in supporting American companies but do admire what the Japanese have accomplished.

I own a Lexus IS250. Model year 2007. Its a 14 years old car yet it's so quiet that you don't realize the engine is running when u stand next to it. Amazing.
I have a 2008 Lexus IS 250 160,000 plus had a 2001 and 2002 is 300 previously one got totaled and the other my wife wanted a newer car so she traded it in for a Camry maybe next the RC F the new IS 350 are a GX are maybe a Toyota Tacoma who knows what the future holds
Bought my 2013 GS as my first car and I know it’ll last for many years to come. Can’t see myself ever switching to a different luxury brand tbh
