Is the switch making a click when you depress it? Make sure the switch you put in was good. If that didn’t fix your problem check all the fuses in your fuse box then check the bulbs, nothing in the brake light system should go through the system board it should all be direct wired so one of those things should work.
There is always this chance but it was pretty straight forward and if you take your time and don’t go postal I think you’ll be pretty safe.

My dad was a mechanic so I learned quite a bit growing up.
Very awkward, but still fun. It made the task easier explaining what I was doing to the phone believe it or not.
