The Slip Angle says:

What do you prefer, fixing up older vehicles and keeping them on the road or buying something brand new and why?

Jorge E. Vuocker says:

Great video! Nice car. A question that it's puzzling me: well, the car has 87K and the T-belt is serviced every 90K or every 5 years. The car was always serviced by Lexus. Then I guess they should've replaced the T-belt several times on this 20 year old vehicle. However, there are no stickers (?) in the engine bay with the date and mileage of the last T-belt replaced. Maybe I am wrong but otherwise we can assume that the belt inside is the original that came from the factory … WOW … If that's the case it's just amazing it's in such a good shape after 20 years!!

Brandon Smisek says:

why a belt and not a chain !

Masood Elyacy says:

Thank you for the detailed video. How long did it take from start to finish?

Ian Francis Ledesma says:

That sure was a lot of work, no wonder they charge so much for this service. . great video; makes the job less intimidating for anyone who wants to DIY.

Kai Roger Hjelmeland says:

Hi! If you still have the lx and looking for new projects then the Tesla screen would for sure be interesting. It seems to be quite popular lately. Love the original look though!

Oscar Raymundo says:

Nice video, i just got a 2001 LX470 that i would like to change out the time belt. Do you have list of parts and products you used?

Ali Abbadi says:

Oops, bad compression rings sign, 30:37 coolant should not move during engine start.

mohamed ali says:

How much would charge if u did the whole job to someone else ?

Jice Z says:

Great video! I am looking at getting a gx470 so this is great insight and very similar to the 2jz timing belt water pump change. The job can look intimidating but the knowledge and confidence gained by doing it yourself is priceless and can be passed along to other similar cars and trucks. Just curious but does this engine have cam and a front crank seal that can be changed during this process? I know on my 2jz I did these seals when I was in there, thanks.

Kris Fulton says:

If you are leaving your rad in place like this video a good tip is to put some thick cardboard on the back of it so you don't ding the fins. Thanks for the vid πŸ˜€

Akbar Abbasov says:

Good job respected

Ronald Excellent says:

Hi!
Can you share the link for the crank pulley holder cause can't find it on Amazon thanks.

Samuel Ho says:

Would pulling the radiator out given you a bunch more space?

Turquoise Sunsets says:

Nice video, the Lexus Dealership here in Reno Nevada just quoted me $1,440 for the work and replacements you just did. Not sure their bid included the new pulley, tensioner, and radiator hoses either? Do you think they are over charging me? Mostly Labor for sure and their shop time is $195 per hr, seems rediculous price gouging to me but then again you did a lot of work there too? Thoughts? Mine is a 2003 LX470…

Yao Yao says:

It's not EASY,dude.

David Blankenship says:

What year is your Lx 470 and how did it run after wards

Fnasser says:

Yeahhhhhhh… I'll pay the 1k every 5 yrs to get this done

David-James Gonzales says:

How much did all the parts cost (t-belt, water pump, and supporting gaskets, rings, etc.)? I'm about to purchase a 99-00 LX 470 and am trying to get an estimate of maintenance costs.

LSWL00 says:

a stubby 1/2 impact works great for that crank bolt since access is limited ive never even seen that crank holding tool before

karim khan says:

Any chance of you doing a head unit upgrade?

Ryan Carnahan says:

How long did it take you start to finish?
