Nice videos ! Seems complicated though, I have my front passenger side actuator acting up so will be working on that. How reliable are these motors from ebay ? Like you said that you had opened the housing before too in the video. Have you replaced the motors more than once on the same door ?

Marc Rasch says:

A couple of helpful tips:

1) Make sure when ordering the replacement motor to get the one with the plastic housing and the 12v power connectors on the backside of the motor. There are ones with the same physical dimensions but the power is on the front.

2) The video doesn’t show how to open the housing where the motor is. It’s sealed with what appears to be super glue. Use a demmel with a fine sanding disk to create a channel. Use a metal blade to gently pry it open. Good luck!

Great Job Mr.Nguyen, I did my front right door actuator by following your instruction and it’s pretty clear. I need to replace my rear left now do you have tutorial for that? Much appreciated….

Will this fix the issue where the door does not unlock?

timtim141 says:

I did not have to remove the window when I did this.

nguyengs42 says:

I been lazy but i will try to put it up soon its basically just reverse of everything. And thank you.

nguyengs42 says:

Not really if you take it step by step like the video you can probably get done 2 doors in an hour. No need to rush it will save you about 200$ per door. I went slow doing the video and as you can tell i did it under 38 minutes with both videos

Randy says:

Great vid helps a lot to actually see it done. What gear motor did you use? The ones that I read in CL said that the ones sold on Ebay were lacking to two slots for the power connection, did you find those somewhere?

Kiet Nguyen says:

its not posted yet im still workin on it

AwesomeC5 says:

Great info! I have the same problem on my 94 GS300. Your video fast-forwarded through the gear puller info. Can I find it on Ebay? Also, I can’t find part 3, is it still on Youtube?

Kiet Nguyen says:

The rear doors are very similar if not the exact same as in step wise but slightly different in door shape and size

Vincent Wynn says:

man that pinion gear puller brings back memories of my Xmod days when i built those motors :]

Great work on the vid. How much different is it to do the rear doors?
