I'm having the same issue with my 2004 Mercury Sable LS. Half of the slider was just "missing" one day. The problem is I am unable to locate only the slider piece. The entire gear assembly is for sale on eBay but I only need the flat rubber/plastic part as all else is intact.
Any ideas where I might find one without having to buy entire part? Oh and Amazon has them, just not one that fits my car make/model.
