I have an OTC kit that allows me to keep the knuckle on the car. Although there are some you’ll still have to use a press because they’re soooo stuck.. but if I can use that hub grappler kit, I absolutely will! It is a 10/10 product! (IF you use the Eric O modifications)
I have always felt a shop press is required for diy maintenance.
Will a bad front bearing cause vibration under acceleration?
Hi AMD I have a completely unrelated question to this video. What is the difference between the 2AR-FE and 1AR besides displacement obviously. Also is the 1AR found in tacomas and 4cyl 5th gen 4runners?
Have you done a video on the new Crown? I’d love to hear your opinion on it.
Thanks. Very interesting.
Exactly the kind of videos I like to see you doing. Only thing better would be if you do more work videos in the 8th Gen Camrys'
Very informative
Question for the Toyota guru love your channel my 2018 tacoma 3.5 48000 mi bought new lof just under 10000 mobile 1 full syn after my 2 free ones a few days a week i drive only to the store and back 2 miles round trip i dont think it gets half way on the temp gauge even, 40 mi freeway trip once a week other wise 10 miles a day on heavy so cal roads i parked right beside another 3.5 tacoma put my finger in it clean my pipe very black soot deep into my skin like dirty oil does this mean my rings are stuck/worn and im burning oil i think it used 3/4 of a quart i noticed before i took it to toyota for its last lof which they said was normal of course what do you think ???????
I woudn't say you need a press for diy, but you want one for this job, i changed le bearing on my 08 civic which is arranged in the same way, my forearm was sore from the hammering the next day
I thought pressed in bearings were a thing of the past?
Thanks for the informative video. I keep wondering how long the original wheel bearings on my 06 Corolla are going to last, I just did my 405,000 mile oil change last night and the wheel bearings are still completely quiet, no loose feeling, noise or rough feeling when I rotate the wheels when I do my seasonal tire change, Michelin Defenders in summer, Bridgestone Blizzak tires for winter.
I didn't even know bearings had a press on them.
Press-on bearings is what I think you meant.
uh kinda of a waste of time…Good shops keep the knuckle on the car 99% of the time. Only reason to take it off is when its extremely seized and that point most of the time you end up replacing the knuckle. Also inner race stuck on the hub can be taken off in 30 sec.You make it spin and blow couple torch hits and it comes right off. That bearing needed lil lube going in and also for the love of god use anti seized on that snap ring 🙁
Hi,
A week ago I bought 2017 Camry with 87000 miles and just try to find if the car is with timing belt or chain also when do I need to change spark plugs and is transmission fluid for life like some other brands or need to be changed ?
