I removed the radio (different reason) and reinstalled it again but the car does not start? The dashboard lights up but the engine/hybrid system does not start. Any ideas what is wrong and how to get the car going again? Thanks.

If the headunit is unplugged, will it need an unlock code when it is plugged back in? I know with some Lexus/Toyota models, an unlock code is needed if the headunit is taken out and put back in or even if the battery is changed…

My AC temperature control is not working, if i buy a used one from junk yard. Do i just install it? Do i have to register with lexus?

One of two upper metal clips from screen plastic frame dropped inside the panel when I taking it apart. Now im not sure if I have to open up the whole dashboard to get it back or can I leave it inside ?

I did it in 1 hour with your video. For tools, I would add a needle nose pliers for removing clips, a flat head screwdriver for removing one plug on the lower right, a philips screwdriver for removing 2 clamps if you are swapping, and be extra careful dropping screws- I dropped 1 into the abyss. Sometimes the only thing stopping us is fear of the impossible- you removed that fear factor, thank you.

Nice video! You guys are awesome. I posted this on the amplifier post too, but maybe the answers will help someone here too.

Hi! I have a few questions.

1. Is there any reason that the amplifier is separate from the head unit on this car?

2. Can the head unit be replaced by anything aftermarket? I do not have navigation.

3. My system seems to have random shutdowns. It seems to be heat related. I'm not sure if it is the head unit or the amplifier. How can I test which piece is failing?

Have a 2014 Lexus RX. When scanning for radio stations it will not stop just keeps running through the radio dial. Also has a hard time pulling in station and song info. Can only manually tune to stations and have found only one that will pull in HD when there are many in my area. Antenna seems to be fine. Have you seen this issue before? Is it fixable?

The Great Gazoo says:

Do you know if the black plastic panel for the environmental controls can be popped off and replaced?

Bhinder Singh says:

Is it possible to install an aftermarket radio that uses the mouse controller?
