Cleaning an electronic throttle body seems like a piece of cake, until you learn that some people break them! Mine costs over $700, and most electronic throttle bodies aren’t cheap. I recorded the entire process and learned a lot from the experience. This service was done on a 2006 Lexus GS300, but the same process goes for Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Acura, Ford, & Infinity just to name a few. Good luck, and post your questions and comments below.

I'm wondering if anyone can answer my question. In the process of
getting to the root of fuel trim problems, I was going to clean the
throttle body. When I opened it up, however, I discovered that it was
clean as new on the inlet side (I didn't take it off the car) The car has 43000 miles on it. I have
run techron through the car on a semi-regular basis, and my previous
tank of gas I ran the complete fuel system cleaner through it. But I
don't understand how that would affect the throttle body. Also, what
about the possibility of a stuck PCV valve keeping it from getting
dirty? Though I would expect that would throw a code, which my computer
has never thrown. What could possibly account for this? thanks
