Hey Beau, I just changed my o2 sensors on my 99 Lexus es300 today as well
as, got the sparks,timing,VVT, and water pump all done in the spring. But
my car is still running rough idle in drive,reverse, park but sounds not to
bad in neutrel not wanting to shift into its 4th gear . Could this be
coils? My Mechanic is saying that it could be the computer….? It keeps
throwing out a bunch of codes.
Hi: I would have loved to seen the video continue longer to see you taking
out the rear plugs, and coil packs. I don’t know if you need specialized
tools to bend back there. I thought you had to take the exhaust pipes out
of the way to get there. Thanks for the info. I have a Camry with 126,000
miles. I can’t wait for it to start crying for access to my wallet. Knock
on wood, it’s been a pretty good car so far.

es300 that needs some TLC or it’s gonna blow-up on me 🙁
–> check oil light, running rough, my mechanic changed a clogged screen
down near the oil pan about 9 months ago…now the same symptoms are back.

Starting at 8:20 I heard you state that “Mechanics will kinda rip you off,

advantage of you, it’s just the way they are.” Yet at the beginning of this
video, you say “Beau the Mechanic”. My question is, due I lump you into
this group of Mechanics that rip people off? If not, why not, are you not a
Mechanic like you stated? Instead I would rather hear there are Some
Mechanics that rip people off. Offensive to 20 yr+ pros.
heyy beau i need some help with a 99 dodge ram 1500 2wd 5.9l I am truely
stumped!
also since the the misfire code cylinder 1 is generic so i was gonna change
the coil. ive replaced the cao rotor plugs cap and rotor. no play in the
actual distributor. think thatll fix the misfire thing? also the waterpump
is the main thin i guess. everything is fine sometimes its slow speeding up
from 1st gear untiul hits 2nd gear. trany rebuilt by aamco
Hey beau i did exactly as you showed in this video and found the coil that
has to be changed …just wondering if I will have to plug a code tester in
after I have replaced it to turn the engine light off

coils can go bad for lots of reasons, i like antiseize, its a great tool..
i just don’t like it on aluminum cylinder heads. which is about 99% of cars
these days. even ngk has a couple tsb out there about using the stuff. just
be careful and i suggest changing plugs every 25k or so. happy hunting
hi redwingskilla, good to hear you got it fixed.. and to answer your
question, no you dont have to erase the code but it will take a few days to
go away. the cars computer will have to relearn that the car isnt missing
out. most shops erase the code to ensure they fixed the problem. just
change the coil and wait to see if it goes away. cheers.. beauthemechanic
thank you i really appreciate it. I have a generic misfire intermittent. on
and off with the light. i get 9.6mpg its a 99′ ram 1500 5.9L i repaklced
the both 03 sensors iac tps sensors.compression is good. timing is good. I
noticed that my bearings in my waterpump is goin to crap. would that make
the engine have a little vibration? it feels like its misfiring but it
isnt. if that makes anysense lol. also the rpms kinda jumps a sliver maybe
100rpms. any ideas?

Bang on about the antiseize, I find that not changing you plugs as said
caused your coils to overheat and die sooner.

plugs too. Got any tips for people with larger hands getting to #s 1,3 and
5?
There is a Champion product sold specifically for spark plugs threads. It
is easily available through Aviation Supply sources. It includes a very
narrow brush that makes it easy to apply it to JUST the threads. Some alloy
cylinder heads seem to be real bastards for plug thread picking up after a
while, so I always use the Champion product. Run of the mill anti-seize
products are not intended for spark plugs.
