The bucket I was using isn’t wide enough to capture the oil coming from both the drain and the filter. So I have to do it one at a time.

Hey try taking off the oil filter while your draining the oil it doesnt make a mess and its an easy cleanup!!

Thanks for the info.

Hey, If the car has over 60,000 miles I recommend going up on the oil thickness. 100,000 miles is going to be using 15w-40 or so. Also If the car is 10 years old or more, additives to decrease engine wear are recommended for extending engine life and oil burning(If happening). Just saying. Very usefull video thanks!

I’m working a Lexus coolant/antifreeze DIY refilling video.
I also got a Lexus tire/break/rotor video but still not sure how to present it.
I got the filter for the ES300 and now need to find a warm day to make a video on how to replace the cabin air filter.

It’s getting cold and wet here in NJ so I got to wait until the weather cooperates to shoot the videos.

great DIY video. I too have 2000 ES300. Also i would recommend putting on a new washer everytime do an oil change and i always get a OEM oil filter. Sure i pay more but i like to keep/replace some parts to OEM and the oil filter is one of them.
I too have apprx 110,000miles and i have always had conventional oil. Walmart is great for cheap motor oil compare to auto parts store.
I change it every 3000 but i think 2500 interval is a bit short for me
Any more DIY videos?

Hi sungod1976. I think I only paid for an oil change once & it was because I had a coupon. Else, I have always done my oil change. If I can save $6 doing it myself, I’ll do it myself. Right now I only have 4 vehicles; Honda Accord, Honda CRV, Lexus ES300, and Acura TSX. I did a short review video for the Accord and the CRV since I purchased them while active on YouTube.
I’m a family man now so I got rid of the fun cars & only purchase practical vehicles. I have my eye set on that minivan next.

Great oil change video. What motivated you to do your own oil change? What other autos do you have? Ever thought about doing auto reviews? We need more straight forward auto reviews on the web.
