– Matt is changing the starter on a 2003 GS 300
– Step one is to disconnect the battery
– There is broken plastic on the starter, so the electrical connection can’t be held in when it’s plugged in
– Matt uses a 14 millimeter gearwrench swivel socket and a long extension to remove the first bolt
– He uses the same tools to remove the top bolt
– Matt puts the starter back in, tightens everything and reconnects the starter

Great video, clear, not a lot of camera movement, right to the point. Thank you.
I got a brand new starter and its making a grinding noise has anyone ended uo having to shim there starter??
i have a 99 and my starter went bad. some videos i've seen they lifted the engine to be able to get the starter to come out was that nessary, or is it able to fit out of the engine bay through the bottum okay
Thanks for the heads up on the swivel. It took me a total of 40 minutes to do it.
You don't have to unscrew the bolts all the way out the transmission housing. Just enough to get the starter out. Makes it much easier to align the new starter back.
Thanks for the quality video.
