Mileage went down from 20mpg to 19.5mpg 70% city/30% Hway. Note that the
old filter element was never changed since new. Rule of thumb (unless you
drive on dusty roads) is to change every 2 years or 24,000 miles. From now
on, I’ll be checking it every 10K. When holding the old filter against
light, it was filthy and clogged. 1 MPG improvement will cover the cost of
the filter after 5 tank refills of gas.
