A/C sucks air from the vent slits near your wiper blades. It goes through the A/C, gets cooled, then goes through the cabin air filter inside the glove box, then the air goes through the vents and out to your face.

The engine air filter filters air from the engine air intake. This air goes to the engine for combustion purposes. Also, it doesnt go into the cabin inside the vehicle.

Same as on Camry 2003

We’re glad you changed your filter and that our video could help!

Anseido says:

Thanks for showing this video. I changed my carbine air filter, following this instruction. It was filled with all kind of debris.

heartlessvietboy says:

Air that comes out of my A/C Vent is the air I breathe. That air is filtered by the Air Filter from the Engine Compartment???

filterheads says:

Correct. It filters the air that comes out of your A/C so that you aren’t breathing in toxins from outside.

heartlessvietboy says:

So it’s an air conditioning filter?

heartlessvietboy says:

Horrific. My window when left open here in San Francisco is Black with Carbon and Dust. How come people are using turbo spools now? Doesn’t it let more air into the combustion chamber? I don’t see an air suction device in my vehicle.

filterheads says:

As you drive the air that you driver through flows into your vehicle. This is why when you live in a city that may be more smoggy it is a good idea to change your filter more often. If you like in the country where the air is less smoggy you can stick to the “once a year” cabin filter change.

heartlessvietboy says:

How does it get sucked into your vehicle?

filterheads says:

The cabin air filter catches particles that get sucked into your system so that you don’t end up breathing them in. Its good to have one because it catches pollen and other harmful pollutants that get sucked into your vehicle before they reach you. An old cabin filter that has reached it’s capacity for holding particles will cause your system to push out less air, so changing it at least every year is a good idea.

heartlessvietboy says:

What does an air filter do? Is there a type of suction to suck just the right amount of air?

megafast13 says:

Newer Technology 😀

nautica11m says:

god damnnn thats dirty….what the hell happened there. is that sand in the cabin?

LarryParker1958 says:

Wow, that is so much easier than what I have to do to replace the cabin air filter on my 2000 ES300.
