I’m not sure, never done one. I bet most of it is the same.

lyannrose says:

can i apply this video to the 2jzgte?

Gregory Auen says:

Awesome job on the video….my son and I tore into my daughters 300 and were able to complete the job,,,excellent editing and nice sound track…if the wrenching thing don’t work out, maybe turn to video production. Cool to find quality content. Well done!

Dailydriven79 says:

I’ve seen em leaking but never done it. I don’t see many IS300s and was glad to get this job up here. The most common thing with these is the O2 sensor heater circuit/ “Check Engine” light.

john tom says:

Can you do a video on replacing the cam and crank seal on this car ??? Thanks!

Dailydriven79 says:

Sounds like you’ll end up drilling and or replacing some stuff. Maybe you could send me a video response?

adrian miranda says:

Thanks for the video! I have code 0763 Solenoid C. I will be dropping the transmission pan and pulling the solenoid. Can this be cleaned with crc maf cleaner since its a valve. It’s seems pretty easy to locate and disconnect from the wiring harness. Is there anything I should watch out for? Any help is appreciated!

Dailydriven79 says:

If it’s “spinning” instead of “chugging” when you’re trying to start after replacing the timing belt then it’s likely out of time. The compression strokes make it “chug,” when a motor is out of time this doesn’t happen and it just spins. A motor with a broken timing belt or chain sounds the same. Good luck

Albert Gonzales says:

Question my son has a 2001 Lexus IS 300 it over heated due to the tension pulley belt tore up we got pulley and belt replaced but now it wont start its getting fire to plug #1 and we sprayed starter fluid still wont start sounds like engines just turning does not sound like it wants to start. pulled first plug out and it was wet smelled like gas any information on what it could be???? no water in the oil… any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dailydriven79 says:

That would be catalytic converter, bank 1.

joojoo456 says:

I a have po420 error code how can i figure out wich o2 sensor it is?

Dailydriven79 says:

The teeth of the tool are on the outer shoulder of the pulley, it hard to see because of the resolution. You don’t want grab the ribs of the pulley or it will end up chewing into the belt.

Eddie Woo says:

when you used the chain wrench to hold the crank pulley in place it didnt look like there wasnt anything protecting the crank pulley from the “teeth” of the chain wrench.

didnt that the “teeth” of the chain wrench damage the crank pulley?

HEY NICE VIDEO!!!! DO YOU LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR DENDALL OR MIAMI??? CAUSE I NEED HELP WITH MY CRANKSHAFT SEALS THEY BEEN LEAKING FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW.

mynes3 says:

So set on dots then check tdc with the dash lines? If so thank you very much

Dailydriven79 says:

dots, tdc was checked after turning the motor over

mynes3 says:

Sorry. Clear my self. Did you set timing belt on the “dot” on all 3 or the “dash- line”? And tdc

mynes3 says:

Since its set on the “dot”, when crank around a few rounds, itll tdc on the lines instead right?

Dailydriven79 says:

The intake timing gear never moves in relation to the exhaust and crank gears; when the VVT works, oil pressure moves the intake camshaft ahead of it’s timing gear. The idea is to move some of the slack in the timing from where the tensioner will be to in between the cam gears and between the intake and the crank. This way the belt will slide right on, in time. Then, after the belts on I turn the exhaust back and the crank forward and the three gears line up.

mynes3 says:

So with the intake cam gear on the “dot”, when vvti works, it goes clockwise? So advance the crank and exhaust cam gear by a few teeth, and the intake gear too or no? I confuse on the intake gear as im not sure which way we are supposed to set it. Like all the way til the vvti gear stops left or right? Thanks

Dailydriven79 says:

With a wrench on the exhaust cam (like @ 5:18 but in the opposite direction) I set a ratchet on the crank bolt, hold the cam and smack the ratchet. A good hit will knock it loose. It does tighten up a bit while rotating the motor, good question.

quikslvr2011 says:

After you verify that the timing is right how do you get the bolt off?
