Great video! Please post more DIY videos for Lexus IS autos. Really helpful…Thanks

C NAVARRO says:

Angelo Q,
Good DIY video. I was able to reset the engine/maintenance required light but I’m pretty sure I pressed the reset button to long or did something else wrong because the VSC light and engine light came on right after I cleared the oil maintenance light. Do you know the method to reset the VSC light.

mgrande11 says:

you can get the oem Toyota for the same price

Angelo Q says:

I would think so, but I’m not sure…sorry!

qvole777 says:

Is it the same for a rear wheel drive same year and model

Angelo Q says:

no sorry I don’t know, that wasn’t actually my car, it was an ex’s of mine!

mgrande11 says:

Angelo Q says:

I posted the link under the description, it was a Wix 57173 Oil Filter, Pack of 1 from Amazon, $7.10. if you’re using synthetic I would change it at least every 5k miles, if you’re using regular oil every 3k!

jaycruz817 says:

thanks angelo, resetting the oil change light also works on the RWD is250 as well. great video

Jordan Lee says:

Hey Angelo, what kind of oil filter do you use and how often do you change your oil with Mobl 1, I just got a 2009 IS 250 AWD, please advise when you have a chance, thanks

Angelo Q says:

Ok thank you!

hondaveetc82 says:

You should screw on the canister byhand first till the gasket makes contact with the housing otherwise you’ll run through risk of the gasket kinking and u don’t need to change the drain gasket on the canister unless you take it out

Angelo Q says:

Thanks Vannyfresh, You’re welcome!

vannyfresh says:

Angelo Q says:

Angelo Q says:

TheWacoKidd says:

just turned my oil maintenance message off using this video, thank a lot for the help!

Angelo Q says:

I’m sorry I’m not sure if it’s the same for the is350…as far as the light, it should come on when the next maintenance is due not necessarily talking about only oil change…just make sure you do your oil change every 5 months if you’re using synthetic…

gabrielc2027 says:

Also i took my car to get an oil change and i reset it the light off, now the oil maint reqd doesnt turn on, is it because i use mobil1 synthetic & need change every 5 months. Or i reset the light for good?

gabrielc2027 says:

Is the same for an is350?

Angelo Q says:

No problem!!! thanks!

Bo Jon says:

Great man thanks. I appreciate how quick you replied, keep it up.

Angelo Q says:

if you’re using regular oil then yes every 3,000 miles, if you’re using synthetic like I did on this video I would do it every 5,000 miles.
here is something I copied from the mobile 1 website:
“Oil change intervals can be as short as 3,000 miles or as long as 15,000 miles on some new cars. We recommend that you follow the oil and filter change frequencies shown in your owner’s manual, especially during the warranty period.”

Bo Jon says:

so do you do this every 3,000 miles?

Angelo Q says:

Thanks Katelyn, no problem!

katelyn lao says:

Awesome job. Thank you for doing that.

Angelo Q says:

Thank you Imran…kinda by the cross member, but I did place the jack back on a different spot just to be safe…not sure that you can get it off without that special tool, I would expect it to be pretty hard without it!

Imran Siddiqui says:

Great video! Couple of questions: 1. Where did you place the jack stands? 2. Any way to get the oil filter off/on without using the specialty Toyota/Lexus wrench?

shahin khalkhali says:

amazing thank you!

Angelo Q says:

you’re welcome, glad I could help!

Angelo Q says:

thank you!!!

FlyingDutchmanHans says:

Awesome vid! Excellent instructions, good camera angle and lighting, also pretty awesome you showed how to reset the message. Probably the only thing I will do different is to lower the car while it is draining to make sure all the oil comes out just because I’m OCD like that. Btw, I also liked how you did a required tool layout at the outset of the video. Thanks for taking the time to make it!

MendoMotorsports says:

Nice job.

Gina Wagner says:

Thank you! It worked!
