Wonder if the mrs will let me do an experiment with her kenwood blender?
I’m sure the smell of ep90 will wash out. Second thoughts, it didn’t go
down well when I tried to clean a coked up 300tdi inlet manifold in the
dishwasher that time.

interesting, I am going to have a check of the axles and swivel housing
tomorrow.

Matt Allen says:

I’ve seen this a fair few times (more than I care to remember) As most
axles will have had greased bearings at some point I’ve never seen it
become a problem… The only question is will the one shot mixing with the
EP (or 80/90 in many cases) become an issue to the effectiveness of the oil
on the diff? Will the temperature raise enough to become an issue to seals
etc? I’ve never monitored the temps of a landy axle … I’d be interested
to know what they run at under normal conditions etc.

Land Rover Toolbox Videos says:

Yes in a nutshell. I’d check to see the swivel housing seal is in good
condition though. Once the one shot is in then it stays in until you strip
it down.

Land Rover Toolbox Videos says:

yes, when you replace bearings on a fully floating hub, ( that’s the Land
Rover type then they really need to be greased when fitting even if the hub
is oil fed. Common practice. Gives the bearings a chance before the oil
gets to work.

Land Rover Toolbox Videos says:

it’s something to look out for. Perhaps it is why the Diff oils turn green?

Land Rover Toolbox Videos says:

I hear ya! We had an industrial steam celaner at work. tried miserably to
copy that at home too..

stonefisk says:

If one shot is used on the older type arrangement and over time some of it
makes its way through the seal into the diff oil making a slight slurry…
will the world actually end?

Hylton Hines says:

So i take it your just drain the Ep 90 and then fill with one shot?
